I have a 97 moomba and the strut appears to be bent to the left. Is this normal? Also the strut is supposed to have two set screws but one is missing. The shaft also flops back and forth inside the strut. I assume the bushings are gone? Also the plate that attaches to the bottom of the boat that the prop shaft runs through that is closest to the engine is damaged. Does anyone know the name of this and who sells them?

the strut and the rudder are offset so you can remove/ install the shaft without removing the rudder. Not sure what the other thing is your talking about , take a pic and post

Sounds like you need a new shaft seal, possibly a new strut and perhaps a new shaft. Check with skidim for these parts. Shafts from Elberts are probably cheaper though.
