Cuando adquirí mi outback, compré este dispositivo opcional que se ofrecia. Aunque soy esquiador de slalom, también hago algo de wake, y pensé que este aparato, como su nombre parece indicar, mejoraria le estela para hacer wake. Cual fue mi sorpresa al comprobar que como más ola hace el barco es cuando el dispositivo no actua, y sin embargo, cuando actua, lo que hace es aplanar la ola haciéndola mucho mejor para slalom. Me gustaria que me dieseis vuestra opinión.

The goal of the wake plate is to flatten out the wake when it is down. That position should improve the experience for slalom skiers.

It is designed for the wakeboarder more so. What it also does it adds ramp to the wake making it biggier, the goal of a wake boat is to sink the rear of the boat more in the water to make the ramps steeper, by adding the wake plate you can allow the boats rear end to stay deeper in the water as you drive at wake board speeds, it also has a reverse effect of lowering the nose of the boat by pushing the rear of the boat out of the water. This is because since the engine and most of the ballast is in the rear of the boat it will be rear heavy and want to send the nose skyward. This is also why most tournament style wakeboats have a nose thats tapered down to allow even better visability.
