same here, I've had mine for one full season and trailer with it on. No issues, and no stretching. It took me a few times to figure out how to get it put on correctly and quickly though. Love it.

Ryan - please throw up a photo or two. I'd really like to see how it turned out since we have the same hull.

Very nice! Makes you feel much better about trailering with it.

This is the only pic I have that really shows it and mine is the older style. Its all one piece. Zips around each tower leg. It has a cord that goes all the way around the cover and on the back it ratchets tight. Then you can see the 5 buckles it uses on the back to draw the top tight. Has several pieces down the side that keep it under the rub rail. Any exposed hard pieces in the cover have padding. The newer ones may be a little different but i think its the same concept.

I struggled with mine at first but now I can put on pretty quick.

love my evolution cover- fits like a glove and I can have it on in less than 5 min with no poles to jack with. when I talk about selling my boat my wife says "you can't sell it you have that nice cover for it!"

Thats prolly the boggest upgrade im getting next season, it was PP but once again its on hold for something i think is much more practicle. I have seen one in person on a friends boat and its the best type of cover ive seen on a boat. Since i tow mine quite often i want to have a solid cover. Plus it helps Corey and Eveloution are in my home town of Tucson. Yeaa Baby

The Evolutions cover is expensive no doubt, but dang nice to have.

David, I should have a photo someplace of mine just not sure-if I come across it I'll get it to ya

thanks it looks like the cover mine came with but i only have two straps on the back to pull the top tight instead of 5 and mine has snap buttons and velcro around the tower legs instead of a zipper. i also have some straps that buckle around trailer but those will vibrate like crazy going down the freeway

moombadaze
10-21-2011, 06:49 PM
those vibrating straps will burn the gel coat over time-be carefull thats all

Yeah there is no way im towing with my cover on i have now for that very reason. i just tow it topless

Kg- how well does that cover keep the water out?

if you put a twist in the straps they wont vibrate as much.

my Evolution fits much tighter than KG's picture. When mine is snugged down, there's no wrinkles, puckers, etc. It's great a keeping water off because it's so tight.

Yea, mine is the older style and I'm sure they have been improved. What dusty was getting at is if I don't pull mine super tight it wil hold water. I

Rd, all those things yours doesn't have is the purpose of the evolution cover. Its not necessarily for looks but to get it trailerable. No snaps, so straps, etc

Old wives tale, twist all you want; they will still vibrate and scuff the gel. I found that out first hand, spent hours buffing the marks back out!

These pics are from the first time I recieved it. They forgot to sew the support over the ski pylon, so Cory paid my return shipping and quickly turned it around, also adding re-inforcement over the cleats beside the windshied and the light wiring. He also tightened it up around the front pylons; you can see it looks like it wasn't quite tight from the windshield to the sides at the front bars.

There are 5 straps in the back pulling it tight, zippers and elastic around the tower legs, and zippers over the side rope clips (you have to disconect and reconnect to get around the tower legs). There is a rope around the perimeter holding it tight under therubrail with a sweet strap for pulling it tight, even with a litte pouch for tucking the extra strap into. There are also multiple padded bars velcroed to the inside of the cover (and tethered!) to grab the rubrail and hold it tight (the secret to being towable and not requireing straps i believe). The quality of this cover is awesome! I expect it to last many years.

So now what are you going to use that old coat hanger on?

Dang man - that does look great! I had a new cover in the plans for this year but it never materialized. Seeing yours now I'm kicking myself I didn't do it already.

Very sharp.

I towed mine an 8 hour trip with no problems at all. Mine is the same as rc's 5 straps at the back. The only thing i would have changed is the 3 middle straps at the back have the buckle style clip but the outer 2 are like the 2 d-rings that you go over and under on and can be a pain to get loose. I couldn't be happier with the tarp. After owning it for a year i'd pay double for it no problem... especially after dealing with the stock tarp for the first year!!! what a POS!

Interesting, as my design I had made by a local shop in 2005 is the same as the evolution except I cover the rub rail all the way around including the transom so I don't need the straps and I pull the cover tight and latch the pull rope on each side to the opposite tie down loop on the transom. I used Top Gun material which has the same 5 year warrenty from the manufactorer but the expected life is 15 years. The down side is the cover is heavy but I leave the boat outside all year long so I need fabric that will take the weight of ice and snow. As a side note, I got the cover made for $400 but I see the company is no longer in business.

I have a trick that might help you with this. Make a loop in the strap, then insert the loop thru the ring so it's below then tighten it up from there. So, you end up with a loop below the d-rings and when you get ready to uncover, just tug on the loop and it come loose very easily.

If that didn't make sense, let me know and I'll try and post up some pics.

I do as Drew recomends on the 2 outer d rings--works great, never loosens and a quick pull and its undone.

Yup same here you can put your finger in the loop and really tighten the cover down.

mine was around $900.00, a little more because of shipping and exchange... well worth it in my opinion.

wolfe -- thanks for the tip... i will give it a try.

I would really like to have one as they are a beautiful cover but OUCH!!! Dealer quoted 1200 for one so 900 is not as bad but that is still equivalent to a good surf board and a lot of gas for the summer.

US residents the cover is about 800 to 850 with shipping.

Boone the dealer cover doesnt even compare my friend. I have the upgraded Moomba cover on mine and 3 years and apx 10K miles and its showing a lot of wear and tear. Its a must i get a new cover next year as mine is just getting worn and ugly. < to me anyhow > i have seen the Evolution in person on a buddies boat and its the shiz nits man. Worth every bit of the cost.

Hell i would drive to AZ and pick it up if i had too..Ohh wait its in my home town anyway..at least Mom will let me stay the night and feed me LOL

:) I pitched it.

Although, I did make a cover for the back of my truck with the back half of the old boat cover. Turned out alright for free and a couple hours worth of sewing/fitting... I'll try to post up a pic or 2 tonight... Looks like a covered wagon ;)

I didn't get to tow with mine, since it came just days before freezing temps :( The only waiy it'll move now is if we sell the house before spring, which doesn't seem likely since we've ony had 1 person look at it in the 11 months it has been on the market now :(

Come on spring!!!

My old Moomba Cover (1/2 of it anyways) made into a cage cover. Now the kids can stay a little dryer if we get caught in a rainstorm. (for those unaware, there are 2 bench seats in the back under a full roll-cage)
