found this on Moomba's facebook page

‎Moomba Boats is digitally chronicling the first production build of the new Mojo 2.5 wakeboard boat with daily build photo posts. This series of blog posts and photos galleries will illustrate the superior production processes that make a Moomba boat.

Today is the second production day of this new Moomba wide-bow wake boat and the day the boat gets personal, with custom colors. The pattern was precisely taped and masked on the deck yesterday. Today begins by spraying the gel coat colors and ends with more taping and masking on the hull.

This is cool. It'll be fun to watch the build, regardless of your particular stance on the styling/name/layout/etc of the boat. Still fun to watch it be built from the ground up.

Anyone from SC care to chime in on where this one is heading after complete?
Is this a customer's boat or spec going to a dealer?

What is the first big boat show of the "season" - I predict that it will go to a dealer in that general area...

maybe a good guess as the weather is still decent here around the expected delivery date and the boat show is Jan 12-15, 2012.

It could be for the largest Moomba dealer in the NW. AWS said they will have a Mojo sitting on the floor for the Evening with the Stars event in early November. I think its Nov 11th or 18th.

Just got the Fall 2011 edition of Transworld Wakeboarding mag. It has a "Sneak Peak" of the "Top Boats of 2012". The feature is called "Future Crafts" and it lists the 2012 Moomba Mojo as the "Next Generation" pick. Nice little writeup on the Mojo that emphasizes the room and the easy care due to fiberglass floor and snap out carpet. It mentions the bow shape and hull depth (deepest Moomba ever) as well as the surf friendly platform. It says the Mojo has a "big clean wake" that "will immediately make it Moomba's flagship wakeboard and wakesurf boat when it debuts".

man it's just great to see American workers taking pride in building a quality product-especially one that's going to bring a family so much joy. When I start to think that trading my boat in is selfish because it works just great, I think eff that these guys need a job and I need a new ride!

Sorry, I didn't have all the pics up yet. Looks to me like the storage areas will be carpeted and some will have the textured rubber overlay (I like that), but from this pic the installer appears to be laying on finished fiberglass where the snap in carpet would be.

on the daily build blog, they describe how the engine mounts and the tower mounts don't have backing plates, but rather they use lag screws that sink into a material called Aqua Plas. It sounds like it's something new (it's definitely new for the tower bolts). I wonder how they are fastening the swim platform transom brackets?

Here are a few of the details about the Mojo that have been posted on the blog:

The inside of the hull is carpeted to finish the ballast-free storage areas of the Mojo. The storage areas that can house ballast are lined with Alpha flooring. This durable non-skid covering provides the perfect base for the available Gravity III ballast system as well as a slip-less environment for gear. Used in action sports applications like RV toy hauler cargo areas, Alpha flooring is constructed to withstand the rigors of playing hard.

The Mojo hull will also accept its 50 gal fuel tank to supply a new available Indmar 345 Assault CAT engine. The fuel tank is tucked into the center of the Mojo lounge and covered with the new easily maintained fiberglass floor.

All Moomba boats come standard with a 4 Kicker Speaker system driven by a Sony deck.

the standard Oz wakeboard tower is bolted through the deck into the superior retention and security of a wide block of Aqua Plas. This method distributes the load of the tower bases over a greater area of the deck to eliminate stress cracks. The Aqua Plas material also adapts to the shape of the deck, where the two meet, unlike a metal backing plate that has no flex. And finally the bolts melt a path into the Aqua Plas for a vibration-free mount.

15 stainless steel cup holders :)

I love how in the original thread everyone was flamed because they were comenting on a "pre-production" boat that wasnt completely finishied. This looks like the exact same deck boat style as the proto-type. Although this color combo looks better than the original.

based on the pics there's no way the draft is deeper than an LSV. The water is right at the break in the hull near the back. In earlier pics, the platform was right at water level. What I'm getting at is that to put out a bigger surf wake, you'd need to load it up with ballast moreso than the competition that has a 6in deeper draft, right?

KG's Supra24
10-19-2011, 10:15 AM
The naked Mojo def looks better (imo) than having the graphics.

What gives with only 4 speakers? Doesn't the LSV come with 6 now? Like most wakeboats? Looks like a lot of fiberglass to mess with for a custom sub enclosure under the driver.

Looks like the fuel tank fill is still going to be on the opposite side as most trucks.

The Alpha flooring in the ballast compartments is an awesome idea!! Not sure why everyone isn't doing this bc the carpet takes forever to dry.

Without a playpen, Id imagine your hardcore wakeboat buyers are going to have visible ballast laying in the boat. Especially as much as it has been touted as being able to take tons of weight.

It looks 10x better without the graphics the prototype had. Still curious to see what the wake is gonna look like with a decent amount of weight.

I'm guessing as they dip so many boats a year a galvanized trailer is a better choice for long term longevity versus a standard boatmater trailer.

Been that way for a couple years at least. 4 speaker cabin stereo standard, option B gets the bow speakers and a 4 channel amp... never seen one in reallife that didn't come with the six speakers and the 4 channel amp at a minimum...

a few other quotes from the build blog

"Other finishing touches added to the Mojo in this stage included the boat's seat cushions, which were sewn and covered custom. Moomba boat cushions are covered in expanded vinyl with a stain resistant top coat for comfort and durability. Seams are perfectly aligned and sewn in an intricate French Stitch for a high-end look and amazing longevity.

The Mojo's fiberglass swim step was added during Final Finish complete with a Moomba-branded Sea Deck pad to create a sure-footed surface and a custom look. "

So, I'm curious from that last sentence. Did somebody spell SeaDek incorrectly and the SC family will now have this as OEM? I don't see SC listed as an OEM on the SeaDek site: http://www.seadek.com/Page_0_OEMs.html.

11-03-2011, 07:11 PM
Can anyone at SC comment on the performance of the Mojo in terms of "swamping" the bow? That is probably the only thing I don't like about my LSV. It's not so much an issues for me, but my friends are very hesitant to drive the boat when I want to surf because they are worried about bringing water over the bow when turning back into the wake. It really only seems to be an issue when the ballast is loaded and there is a body or two in the bow. Was there any bench marking down on the Mojo related to this item? If the new haul corrects this, I am on board for a new Mojo and my wife already agreed as long as she gets to pick the color schemes! :D

The color combo on the drivers seat looks like a giant candycorn but I do like the gel scheme and lack of graphics. It does have a pickle "spork" look from the front view. Definitely not a true picklefork boat (not that it matters). You're really letting us down, man. Not even one pic of the blue one? I'm telling your Mom.

Diamondlake is the dealership but I don't think they have any pics up yet.

Well to be completely honest ...

1. The step up from the back wasn't as bad as I thought.
2. The swimpad didn't feel as small as I thought it would. It def isnt all the way across the boat wide, though.
3. Not a big fan of the dash area but it does leave space wide open which will be nice on the water.
4. Sounds like there is a big hatch door under the snap in carpet so you have access to do repairs? I think that is what dealership said. Anyways, I could feel it give when walking on it which was kind of a turn off.
5. There is another hatch to access the front ballast (hard tank) which I could feel myself standing on through the carpet.
6. I personally dont like playpen unless it goes through the walk-way too due to looks. But just about every boat is like that and so no good input there.
7. Why the hell does my boat have carpet flooring in the storage lockers? I loved that it didn't have that.
8. 2-point towers definitely make it feel like there is less going on around you ... either that or it felt like that bc it wasnt loaded up with boards.
9. Deeeeeeeeeppp cooler. That's nice. My wife likes to "stay fancy" and take wine occasionally, it might hold a bottle upright.
10. That's about all I got ... i think ... probably more "uh, not sure about that?" than "cool" but I'm a natural skeptic.

Oh, it was sitting next to a brand new 22ssv .... dang I love the new Supra interiors!!

Oh, and the dealer said the seats seemed thicker (softer) than previous models but I didn't sit down.

I am 6 ft. tall and was just the right height to be able to walk under the tower without ducking or worrying about hitting my head.

KG - that's great initial feedback!

But, calling Boone's Farm "going fancy" is a bit of a stretch . . .

I've driven and boarded behind one and the most impressive thing about the boat is the performance. So if you like the looks and features then you will probably love everything else. Just my .02

I like the pic in blue, and the fact that the mojo name is on it, but in very small letters and not plastered all over the boat. it looks much better than the test mule pics :)
