That is impressive...I wonder how much of that weight is just in the hull construction. I would hope all of it is for a more solid ride without the boat slapping through chop. I wonder if Rick could chime in and say if SC put a little more attention to adding more material into the Mojo hull for a more rigid, solid ride.

Its going to be priced between the LSV & XLV.

Oh sure, you just couldn't have said between the OBV and LSV... Noooo nothing ever goes my way :-(

If they come out with a smaller one then it might be closer to that but there's no way a 22 1/2 foot boat will be priced between a 20 and 21 footer. But maybe Rick will see this and get ideas :)

Anyone have word on the height this boat is on the trailer---garage clearance height issues

Would be nice to see a pic with the tower folded down too.

RickT

The Oz Tower folds into the boat. It is roughly 3 inches higher than the windshield on the boat. We will try to get a photo soon.

MSRP on the Mojo is $52,995. Includes Tandem Trailer, Gravity I, Digital Cruise Pro, Sony Stereo, Multi-sport Wakeplate, Snap out carpet, Driver Bolster seat, Tower, Pylon and new 330 Hp CAT engine. Add for Freight and prep and additional options.

can we get some pics of the final product? did the dash get altered???

RickT

First new boat sprays on 9/28. Should have shots by mid oct. And yes the dash was slightly altered as was the bow upholstery and a few other items noted in here. Platform was raised as well

Rick, I haven't seen it mentioned or asked yet (or maybe I missed it) but have you guys been working to get the Z-5 to work on the new tower or is it already an option?

rdlangston13
09-19-2011, 09:05 PM
RickT, you should post pictures of the first MOJO during the build process from start to finish. make a new thread for it. i think it would be cool to see it come together step by step while it is being done like a lot of peoples boats that were ordered.

wolfeman131
09-19-2011, 10:28 PM
YDM, I think you missed it. I don't believe that the Z5 will be available on 2012 Moombas with the Oz or V2 tower configurations.

Isn't it awesome how RickT and S.C. listen to the customers, make alterations on the boats the customers want and even come on the message boards to keep us 'super fans' up to speed with the new boats and features. I think that says a lot about S.C.

Is it really awesome? I mean, we found out more about the mojo on wake world than here and we've seen nothing since the prototype images from this summer. I would expect more than that being a member of this board but maybe that's just
me.

Lets Give SC some slack here, their website was crashed for about a week during the release, so they we able to get pics out to WW and FB based on the annual dealer meeting, by SC or by the dealers themselves who took test rides and witness the unveiling. Gotta love social media. unfortunatley the dealer info was slightly delayed and only until this thread has there been a MSRP listed on the Mojo before it was just speculation.

Rick T thanks for keeping current on the SC sites.

That's too bad, the Z5 would be my second option besides Perfect Pass or Zero Off on a boat

When manufacturers choose a tower design, being able to incorporate a z5 should be at the top of the priority list. It is hands down, one of the best features on my boat.

Checked out their website and it looks like, from the factory, they are made for Skiers, Nautique, Mastercraft, and Supreme.

For Skier's Choice, I think you will only find the Z5 on the Supra models. Kinda makes sense that you wouldn't find a $2,000+ option on a "price point" boat

i disagree. if they were only options on a supra then it would really suck because you would have to spend an extra 20k just to get a Z5 instead of 5. i like having the options of certain things on my boat, you shouldn't have to buy a 80k dollar boat just to get a z5, PP, or big engine.

z5 was a option on the LSV and XLV with the rear folding towers, Think what Drew ment was going forwards with the new style towers it wont be available on the Moomba's as I know he asked the folks that make it if it would be available for the V2 tower

Well, there are some things that you can only get on a Supra. A few examples are the retractable ski pylon, heavier weight vinyl, LCD screen, 500 hp Caddy engine, single button fill/plate control and I'm sure that there are others I am missing.

I would assume the z5 mfg would be looking at how to design there mount for a two point tower system, since most boat makers are going this direction. otherwise they will be part of the past. I understand the need for the option of all that cargo, but those with lake property, IMHO dont need all that extra clutter in or on top of the boat.

much lower on my priority list of options

KSmith
09-21-2011, 06:57 AM
I had no choice in the Z5 option for the NG OBV as it was not offered and wouldn't fit the tower. If it were an option I'd probably still had a hard time justifying the cost to the wife as it would have been roughly 5-6% the cost of the NG OBV. I would love to have one that fit my tower, but not for the price I am afraid... Perhaps in my next boat, which is looking more and more like it will not be a price point boat. Current contenders are Supra (of course), MB, Tige, and maybe Malibu... On the other hand as the number of my crew decreases over time (kids either live in Wyoming or are too busy to come by much anymore)... perhaps the NG OBV will be my last boat, not sure how much room the Wife, dog, and I really need...

I don't think it's necessarily 2 point or 4 point towers that make the difference but more the shape of the tower. The Nautique has a two point tower.

I have been wondering about the retractable ski pylon for months now. Seeing them in pics I couldn't figure out if people just left them up or if they were, in fact, not retractable.

wolfeman131
09-21-2011, 10:24 AM
ski pylons are not reractable on Moomba boats. Many of us have looked at how to mod/add this option and in some models, like my OBV, it appears to be impossible due to the location of some components directly below that location.

For the Z5, has anyone heard if the Oz & V2 towers will be the only options on the XLV also?

A CUP HOLDER! Why not a cup holder up top on the dash like all the other mfg's. I mean it's not a big deal but I always wish there was a cup holder at the top of the dash so it's easier to grab your bevy. Minor I know, but still something I would have loved to see. That dash does look better though.

on the dash pic:

I do like that dash a lot. simple, clean and analog meaning easy to read in the sun and not dependent on a lot of electronics to go bad. agree with keeping the cupholder down low. here, more about the popo than the sun. driver of boat cannot have a drink within arms reach. that cubby off to the right side would be awesome with a lid and an ipod/mp3 jack. great place to stash that gear out of the way of the jockeybox. maybe even lined with some swimstep material leftover to protect the ipod..
as far as the moombacruise, I don't like that at all. looks too proprietary to the mojo and if you wanted to upgrade later to whatever the next latest and greatest speed control market offers, looks like it would be a retrofit nightmare..

i completely agree, it is almost impossible for me to reach my cupholder while the bolster is up without hitting the throttle or something. i would LOVE a cup holder that is actually easy to get to. for those of you concerned with the popo seeing your drink, its called a moomba coolie. they work great

if the sun causes your drink to get warm then apparently you are not drinking fast enough...

09-22-2011, 12:58 PM
I'm surprised no one wants to have an easier cup holder for the driver to reach. All the other boats have them. It has been something everyone who drives my boat agree's upon. It's very minor of course but when you have the bolster up, its such a pain to reach down there, especially when a rider is in tow. Put a kid on your lap (often the case) and it's impossible. I think they should keep the 2 down below and add 1 up top. As for the Police "seeing" you have a beer in there, we rarely ever have beer on the boat because we have kids and it's illegal and a ticket just doesn't seem worth it, plus my riding stinks after a few beers.

ian ashton
09-22-2011, 04:15 PM
You pull riders with the bolster up?

KSmith
09-22-2011, 04:24 PM
My wife likes to have the bolster up when she is pulling me.

As for the need to a driver side cup holder up high, I certainly don't need it, when I am pulling a rider I am driving not drinking. I'll get a gulp while idling back after the rider falls... although if I just had to have a gulp I can reach down and grab the water bottle pretty easily... you could always hang a bota bag from the bimini ;-)

jmvotto
09-22-2011, 07:58 PM
You pull riders with the bolster up?

All the time. Unless its just two of us in the boat. One surfing the other in the surfside passenger seat..lol

rdlangston13
09-22-2011, 10:01 PM
My bolster never leaves the up position. With it down the windshield frame is right in my line of vision and water spots on the windshield make it hard to look thru, especially since it is tinted. And since we ride in a river we always have to be on the look out for floating debris
