Still trying to figure out how to post pics,of what happened, but After an AWESOME day of Skiing,Wakeboarding and Kneeboarding, while driving home on the long weekend, then,BAMMMMMM. Blew a tire. The tire shredded, and a chunk caught the back edge of the fender, causing it to twist and buckle up around the remains of the tire..

Tire is Toast as is the Rim likely, and fender had to be pryed then luckily unbolted from the trailer.Damage to the Boat is minimal in slight scratches only, should be able to buff these out.

I really was hoping to get a couple more weekends use before the season ends. I'm in the process of trying to get a Fender and maybe matching rim, from or through one of the local dealers, but to rush delivery ,[said ] items might be very pricey??

Still waiting on prices. I could go with a cheep, trailer rim and tire as a spare, but i definetly want a fender over the wheel before the boat goes any further. Thank God i had a Spare, although ,what a Pain that was to get on.

Parts might get ordered, from Boatmate directly, which will likely mean i might get them for XMAS. OH WELL!!!. All in all its been a pretty good season, and thanks to friends,on emails and facebook etc,i'll likely get a couple more skis in just the same. BOO HOO.If i can figure this out i will post some pics, otherwise i do have some pics on facebook for the few i'm friends with on here to see.

saw the pics on fb and I agree that you're lucky the boat didn't get damaged more than it did.

bummer way to end the season! hope you're able to get back out.

mikey, that sucks!
I had the same thing happen a month ago but luckily my fender just got bent up and not quite as bad as yoursl. I didn't take it off yet, just beat on it enough to be out of the way of the tire. There was nothing left of my tire and actually looked worse than yours. The rubber certainly scuffed up the trailer and some of the Moomba but like you it was minimal to the gel. Mine happened at about 11pm and got new tires the very next morn. so no pics of the tire, but I might try and post up the trailer damage if i get some time. Let me know what you find out on a new fender. I was going to wait till the season is over and then call boatmate to see about ordering a new colormatch painted fender to bolt on over the winter season, then figure out how I'm going to repaint the damage to the rest of the trailer..

You can get that rim in the $30-$60 range from several places online. Do not let the dealer overcharge you. I ordered a white one (bc it was for a spare) and it came within the week.

I got a painted (silver) one with a tire off ebay for about $100 last year-- it's covered so who cares what color?

the fenders are kinda standard-you may be able to take the good one off and get to a trailer shop and match it up-drop it at a body shop for paint and have it back the next day

I've been doing some searching and it looks like i will likely buy a colour matched fender from boatmate. Probably see if i can get it thrown into a SC order so i don't have to pay shipping. Thats the real issue for us to get parts like this up here is the shipping costs. I tire rim combo from boatmate is gonna run 450.00. Thats rediculous ,for a 140 .00 tire from a local shop and its shitty tire coming from the tire guy. A simple white trailer rim is 80.00. So this may be the way to go. I'm still looking into if i can repair/salvage the rim and yes i will buy a local tire.

As for the fender its like 46.00 from boatmate and painted its 150.00 Shipping is extra. Thats the part that scares me.. This is likely gonna be a winter project as to get the fender is likely gonna be a couple weeks anyways.

I've gotten a couple offers to go skiing ,on the go so all might be alright. Just the same i wanna get this taken care of before the snow flys hopefully. Up here that could be anytime from now till mid november? who knows. Wolfman i'll have to pm you to get you to tell me how you did that. I used to know till they changed the format.

It's easy, Mike. Just open a photobucket account (it's free) and upload your pics there (it's easy) then click on the IMG code to copy and paste it in your post in your message here. Feel free to send me a PM if you need more details.

Thanks for the update mikey. Haven't gotten around to calling boatmate on the new fender yet so that helps. At least I know what I'm gonna have to fork out now. Winter project for sure and I'm not in any hurry :(
