First trip with Acme 1235 on my LSV WOW!!

We loaded up and headed to the lake early Saturday morning with high expectations of the new prop on the boat. And boy does it live up to the hype! With the old stock prop I can see now my LSV was a pig. The boat now has INSTANT acceleration and made my LSV what i thought a tow boat should be. We pulled everything we had Saturday from Kneeboard to slalom ski and it performed flawlessly. You know it is pulling hard when someone on a slalom ski tells you not to pull them up so fast. The only thing we didn't do Saturday was surf (Our board loaner wasn't at the lake) but i can see it doing this well also. As for fuel i think we used the same amount if not less. The only thing i can contribute this too is the engine is not working as hard as before. If you are on the fence about buying a prop and not sure how much difference it will make. Well it is MAJOR. My LSV went from a Escort to a Ferrari.. Really

Yup, the 1235 is the last word in whole shot for our boats. Good to know there is another LSV on which there was not a clearance issue. I would suspect though that you will be burning more fuel since you will be turning more rpms at all times, and you probably lost several mph on top. As long as that is not a concern, then the 1235 is the answer if holeshot is the only priority. Having said that, if you don't run a ton of ballast for wakeboarding, there are other options that yield better fuel efficiency and minimize top speed loss, such as the 1433 and the 1847. I have the 1847 and have surfed with 1150#'s and six adults on board and wakeboarded with 1900#'s and 4 adults on board and holeshot is plentiful.

We go to lake Wedowee... I live off of 92/166 ...East side of Douglas county.. You live on my side of town??

Only seemed to lose a couple of MPH off top end but gained it 3 fold on hole shot. I was turning about 2800rpm at 22MPH. The other bonus was almost all of the prop cavitation i was getting pulling tubes in hard turns with the stock prop disappeared. I have no long runs to anywhere once the boat is in the water so once its floating it is time to pull someone. For me Acme 1235= WIN WIN

I am glad to hear about this Jpage. I gt a 1847 and can't wait to use it. I can't wait to NOT hear cavitation like the stock OJ and hopefully have a nice solid hole shot when loaded down and a decent crew on board!! Now if my newborn son would hurry up and get a few weeks older!!!

I agree the 1235 is a beast of a prop! While I haven't tried out the 1235 to compare first hand, I talked with ACME, Netles, and Wakeprops before choosing the 1433 over the 1235 and all said the 1433/1235 were all but indistinguishable in terms of performance. Not that it matters a whole lot but I just wouldn't want anyone to expect any improvement in fuel economy or top speed choosing the 1433 over the 1235. They are both amazing props but fuel sippers they are not.

I read and re-read al's posts about his prop tests before i bought mine. I went with the 1235 because we launch drive out 600 yards and that's where we start our watersports. Our lake is long and narrow with nothing to speak of for trees, so if the wind is up... well your outta luck, so there is no running ten miles down the lake to that calm cove or anything like that. I absolutely love how this thing comes out of the hole!!!! i did lose a lot of top end but honestly i'd never had my boat over 30 mph before so what's the diff?? It's harder on fuel but whatever.... I'm not thinking about fuel mileage when i'm on the lake.

we did take it to my folks lake and when crossing the lake with my dad i had the pp set at 29.5mph and he's like open it up.. lets go. I said i already have and we are... sit back and enjoy the ride! what are we gonna gain 2 minutes??? lol

It's not only the driving to your spot but also all the time you spend operating your boat with less than a full load. We spend a lot of time wakeboarding with just the front bag or no ballast at all, surfing (my stock prop did just fine for surfing), and pulling kids on the tube. So for me, running the 1235 all the time is overkill and I have yet to find the limit of my 1847. But I want to qualify that by saying that the heaviest load I have pulled with it so far was 1900 lbs of ballast (750x2 + 400) plus 4 adults on the boat. That's the most ballast I ever use so we'll see how she does with more people on the boat but I don't expect it's going to be a problem.

For those that run a lot of ballast/people regularly, then yes, the 1235 would be a better choice, assuming it clears your trailer.

BTW, mmandley gives me a hard time because I will literally idle past the no wake zone at the ramp, shut it off, and ask, "Who's first?". So yeah, I don't have far to go to get to my spot either :-)

I like to cruise accross and swim for a minute before riding but thats me LOL. When im on anothers boat its there rules all the way lol. Also mind you when i was razzing you Al was at the start of the season when the water was like 57 and no one wanted to get in, Keenan, me or Brady LOL. Keenan got the dad order to suit up and be a man lol.

lol!!!! it used to be that i'd pull a pile of tubes, but this year my buddy that has a four winns and i made a deal.. if were taking the kids out then we take his boat cause it's gonna be tube ride after tube ride, when were going out to board we take mine.... first thing i do after backing off the trailer is hit the ballast switches, so that's really a non issue.... ballast is full all the time. Besides that i'm not overly worried about fuel... it costs money to play and i'm not going to worry about it. We are actually waiting a week or to here for the water to cool off the the algae isn't so bad then we can head back out.. right now it's like lime pudding complete with the skin!!

Just put the 1847 on my boat and got to try it out last night. Top speed was 39-40 mph so I lost a few but no big deal as the bottom end more than makes up for it. Noticed my boat sounds different ( I have the Fresh Air Exhaust ) but that's probably cause I can't really hear much of my engine.

My wife's comment was that the steering is not as sensitive and she can feel me pulling the boat around a bit more. She said that when she was correcting from when I pulled she had to correct further than normal. Not sure why but that's all that's been noticed so far.

Didn't get a chance to wakesurf last night as we had guests in the boat who wanted to tube etc so will give that a go tonight. This was the water in front of the cabin we are staying at this morning at about 9:00am:

Yeah, I only do that on the river. There's no point in cruising anywhere as the water is great right from the ramp to 12 miles down river. Still do it every time, whether the water is 57 or 70. On Hagg, we usually cruise over to the other side and start riding from there. This is on days that we get out there early. Otherwise, it's usually straight to the cove to anchor.

My parents live off chapel hill and my sister lives down 166/92 at boundary waters. I am living in dunwoody for the time being. Used to go to wedowee a lot in HS/college but havent really been in the last couple years...

I agree on the prop swap too! We had our stock prop for a whole 10hrs I think. Right after breakin we had them swap out for a 1433. The stock one was not enjoyable at all. With the stock 1200 lbs ballast I could hardly get my brother up on the board. With the 1433 he almost got pulled off balance from the instant thrust.

I am a little more concious about my speed as I know it drinks a little more than normal.

I do need a new prop as we hit a sand bar about 200 feet from shore. Didn't damage it too bad, but before next season it will need replacing. I'm most def going to look into this one.

HA! Small world!!! Didn't realize this was you man!!!! I actually told her to call yall and lets all go out one day before it's all over. But yeah, it got banged up pretty bad when I was on the wakeboard. It's better now, but the Dr. Said I could fall victim of some arthritis if I didn't slow down... Heck yeah man I'm down for an afternoon/weekend which ever at the lake to test it out. I imagine it will definitely take getting used to because I'm used to punching it almost full throttle out of the hole, and completely full out of the hole with full sacks and passengers and the boat struggle to get going.
