Hello fellow NW peoples.

Last year Stretch and myself Hosted a camping trip jam of sorts to Green Peter for fellow Moomba people to join in.

This year I'm hosting the event with the help of Eric < Stretch >

It will be at LBC < Lake Billy Chinook > Close friend of mine owns 5 acres and has plenty of room for the boats. We will be in the 3 Rivers Section. For those not in the know, this is a Private owner only area, we have our own ramp and beach front to use all day.

At the camp site we have a bathroom, 5 RV type trailers and plenty of room for tents of the sort.

There are no charges for the use of the property just the respect this is private and owned by my friends family.

I just need to know if you want to attend, if your bringing your boat, and how many in the party.

Event date is Saturday Sept 3rd Labor Day weekend but this section of the river is pretty private so traffic is pretty low.

We plan to be there Saturday Am threw Tuesday night.

Im also planning on being at LBC the weekend of Aug 20th so if that works we can plan that date. Eighter works for me. If this date works better then let me know your more then welcome to attend this weekend as well.

There are no Camp fires allowed but we do have a fire type pit for the evening.
No Running water so plan to bring water.
Bring plenty of ice if you want your drinks cold.
Dogs are welcome just clean up after them.
Kids are welcome just clean up after them.

As of right now my boat will be present and i expect Eric to bring his XLV.

Sorry this is short notice but my work schedule changed, and Eric had some other plans and we had to wait till now to plan it.

Lastly please let me know in advace if your bringing just a car or boat also because we have to get passes in advance for all the trucks and boats.

I may just have to look into this. My buddy has 5 acres up there too! The place is sweet. You can get ice and any supplies from the store down at the marina. You can also moore your boat for around $10 a night. Its pretty secure, so it sure makes it convenient.

Cool - I'm already booked to be camping down there with the fam over the long weekend, just a different location off the water with a few more creature comforts. We'll have to look you guys up while we're there!

This would be awesome Ryan and Berg. I have no issues meeting up at the Marina or something. If your pretty savey on the lake locations i can get you the exact location we lanch from and board at. Its by the Marina store at his launch ramp. We were buying 30 packs of Keystone for 20 bucks LOL. I know its Keystone but hey thats a lot of beer to bown for 20 bucks LOL.

We just got back from there for the weekend and it was awesome. Air was 85 to 90 and the water was 77 average. It was sweet.

You may not want to launch with me - I was cursed on our last visit to Billy... First morning out stopped in the prep area 100ft from the water, all good to go, then truck won't start. F---ed with it a while and found I had serious corrosion on the + cables (stupid GM side terminals!). Had a local good Samaritan loan me a few tools and gave me a jump. Heck the guy even offered to drop my boat in the water for me and tow my truck back up into the lot if we wanted to go out on the water for the day and deal with it when we got back. What a guy! Didn't have to though as the beast came back to life after a little tinkering. End of the day the truck wouldn't start yet again - same problem only this time it was 95 degrees and the parking lot was packed yet void of people. I ended up taking a Sunriver resort technician dude hostage for a while who was just wandering through so I could use his tools and get another jump.

I've thought of making a set of jumper cables that would let you jump the truck from the boat on the trailer or the other way around. I suppose you could just about unhitch and pull up next to the port side and reach with std cables.

I had one of those and the one time I needed it it did not have enough juice to start the truck.

I have a nice little jump pack - was back at camp of course... I NOW have a set of 16ft 4ga jumper cables tucked behind the backseat. Mini toolbox was in the boat - I could have ran down to retrieve it but I think it will stay there and a new/bigger one will be going into the truck. And I gave all the terminals and connections hell with a wirewheel and baking soda water so I'm good to go for a while. Second most irritating part is reprogramming my Kenwood deck in the truck with all the memory presets, output settings, etc.

And the irony of it all was that on roadtrip down the night before I was sort of badmouthing another buddy to my girl about him not doing a very good job maintaining his vehicles, toys, etc. LOL - big talker I am...

Mike,
Are you still looking to do it over the long weekend on Sept 3rd or Aug 20th? I do not know when I am flying back south for work but I would be down to come if i am in town. I also have a friend that owns land in 3 Rivers. The only thing that sucks is the drive down the hill to the boat ramp.

@ Berg hell man thats called Karma lol. As for you launching man i wouldnt care if you had all those issues unless you block the ramp LOL. I bring the boat down the hill and wait like 20 minutes for my brakes to cool so im prolly not the favorite eighter but F them others who dunk there trailers while there brakes and bearings sizzle. Ill see them at the end of the day when there trailer is locked up lol.

At Hagg lake a couple weeks ago i jumped this guys I/O and he just let it run for like 5 minutes on land till they finished prepping their boat and then finally put it in the water, Holy chit man i was scared id have to tow him in next because he destroyed the impeller but he was fine lol.

@ Jester looks like this is going to be Labor Day weekend Sep 3rd as Claudia cant make the 20th. But if you cant make the Sep 3rd but can go the 20th we might be able to go still. Yes that hill is a PITA i think im going to bring my trailer blake lockout thing next time and let my truck do the work because i hate knowing im cooking my brakes on my trailer and i hate the 1/2hr wait at the ramp to cool down lol. I wont even mention the smell the brakes give off or the fact i can put my hand 6inches away from my wheels and feel the heat from the brakes lol.

Hey Mike, Whats the bathroom situation like? I'm going to try and make it one way or another just not sure where were going to stay. I will know more within the next couple days.

KT bathroom is an Outhouse style. Its pretty large, it has 2 windows and an actual house door with a lock on it. Theres also a shower built outside by it thats private as well. Claudia wont use an outhouse or Honey Bucket port a john but she loves this one. Its large and in charge lol. Since its private it stays super clean.

Also we have plenty of room for the boats.

We might have a plumbed shower to use by Labor day but thats up to his uncle to finish it up. Hes the only one with true running water lol.

Bring plenty of water in containers if you have it though as theres no running water but we do have a 1400 gal storage container if needed but its not drinking water.

Let me know any other details you need.

I'm out for LBC. Kids start school right when we get back and we've been camping or out of town every weekend since July. Headed out tomorrow to Prineville for a week. Sorry. Too much to do, too little time.

Ok peoples. This is getting close now. 1 Week 2 Days to go.

Id like to get a count of who will be up at LBC for Memorial Weekend so we can all meet up on the water. If you have camping plans and or places to stay thats great we can meet up on the water someplace to be determined later.

If your in need of a place to sleep let me know, i have to have a people and boat count to make sure we got room at the property.

Thanks

Mike

Mike, was on Billy all day Sunday, went clear to the end by the private houses hunting for ya, looking (listening!) for a Moomba with a big 6-pack on the tower but never saw one. We got driven out from all the smoke/ash from the fires - was kind of disappointing day on the water so went elsewhere for Monday. At one point the smoke completely blocked out the sun on that end of the lake. Launch parking lot was a light flurry of ash when we left - total mess!

Made for some interesting colors on the water mid-afternoon...
