This bullcrap of not being able to ski or wakeboard is just that, bull crap. I gotta wait until the 29th of August and then that is a maybe. What can I do behind the boat that won't get my heart rate up? Gotta be something. Maybe I can tube, I don't know. I got my brand new 750lb bag and can't even use it.

tubing with the right driver will get your heart pounding or can put you to sleep, just take it easy, when the time is right you will get back behind the boat.

Heard surfing is cardiovascularly good. Probably bad for me. I'm not set up for surf though. Got a DD outback. Tube might work I guess but will be a yawner if going straight down the lake.

You can surf behind an Outback, I used to do so regularly when I had one.

I guess I would need to know how to set up my boat. It is usually just me and the wife that go. Would have to know how much bag I would need. I currently have that 750lb bag that I got and I still have the stock bag that came with the boat. Is that enough to surf with or do I need more, at least to get started?

that's plenty.

fill the stock across the back, lay the 750 on the port side (if you want to surf "regular" - left foot forward) between the engine compartment & side of the boat, towards the stern.

I guess the only thing I need then is a board. I didn't realize that that would be enough wake to surf with. Going to have to check that out.

We surf with a 750 bag all the time and it is plenty. play with the trim a bit. I usually set mine down about 1/3. Cleans up the wave a bit. We stopped filling the bow sac and we have been getting a bigger and cleaner wave. Some may disagree but its been working pretty good for us.

My wife can't do anything off the back of the boat for the rest of the summer. Ate #$%$ on her wake board a few weeks ago and blew her eardrum wide open. She has a patch on the eardrum that cant get wet. I now have a designated driver but sucks for her. She is dying to get back on a wake or surf board.

good luck surfing, its addicting.

Make a saucer! Buy a sheet of probably about 3/4" plywood and cut it into a circle, about 4 feet in diameter or a little less. Paint it with some kind of paint that will seal water out. Then you can basically ride it however you want, you seriously pull it at about 3 - 5 mph and you can stand, kneel, sit whatever you want on it, my buddy and I put a lawn chair on one last year, stuffed a beer in our lifejacket and cruised down the river sitting in the chair drinking a beer. Surface spins are easy too, and you just get up kinda like you would on a kneeboard.
