I read some of the other post on this after doing a search and was wondering where the connector is you talk about getting wet and corroded? And what is the easiest way to get to it?The paddle is spinning freely so it is not that. And I have played with the knobs on the dash so I will check that this weekend. Can I turn the switch on and spin the paddle will it register? Thanks in advance for ay help.

I am not sure what brand/model are in the older boats. If it is an Airmar like the new boats, here is a link to the faq and search for testing. Pretty simple to bench test the speed sensor. Doc # 1038

I've got the same problem with a 2008 LSV that I'm in the process of selling. Just saw where speedometer is stuck on ~10mph. PP works great. Anyone found a solution/troubleshooting process?

Same problem with my 04 outback..both my Speedos don't work so I'm assuming it's my airmar shortly 300? I think, or it's my connection

Look for a tag for the model number near the sensor.

Just an update on what I found. Just had the interior of the boat replaced. so the floor was pulled up. thought I would start at the paddle wheel in the bottom and follow the wires. On my model 2008 xlv it had 5 wires. the red wire was pulled from the plug connector. soldered the wire back to connector. ALL GOOD!!!
