Just wanted to let everyone know, I went out with a buddy of mine this weekend on his new (to him, '05) air 210. And I took my 3000# fat sac with me, the wave was horrible. Still surfable, but I have always said, Nautiques put out a huge wakeboard wake, but for surfing they are crap!

I agree. They are completely outrageous in their price, but I have to say, my second favorite brand of boat. I love their seating even though it isn't appealing from above. But it works. They are a solid company as well, but I digress. Yes. Their surf wave sucks. At least on the ones I have been behind. But their wakeboarding lip on a couple of their boats is second to none and that is not up for debate.

Wakeboard wake is undeniable. I've never seen the surf wake. I can't decide if its hideous or amazing, there is something about its sportiness I like about it, though.

Here is a pic I snapped at Brostock ...

The newer nautique hull 06+ puts out a much better wave than our lsv's. The older super airs were really narrow which made the aboard wake really nice without much weight but definitely hurts it for surfing. If you ever get to surf behind a new style 210 or 230 you will see what I mean.

That is an awesome looking boat though. I love the graphics on the Nautique. I boarded behind it, and it was amazing, but I had my 3000# fat sac filled up more than half in the boat and could not get a solid surf wave at all.

A SAN or SANTE 230 is the cat's pajamas as far as sexy boats goes. A 230 will put out a pretty good, clean surf wake on both sides...you just have to know how to do it. can't speak on the 210 but my buddy's 230 is nice to surf behind and he's on his 3rd one. Must be nice to get a 100k boat every year.

Its not about having a single 3000lb sac...it's about where you are putting the weight. Weight is nothing without knowing where each boat benefits from it. In my new boat for surfing I run 1500lbs of bow ballast alone, my previous Moomba XLV didn't like near that kind of weight.

Just look at the hulls of any nautiques and you will see the inability to roll over to surf. Mc xstar looks the same...

Watch the above video at 1:45...such a horrible wave. Believe it or not, the goofy wave on the 230 is better than the regular.

I surf regularly behind a buddy's 230 and have surfed a couple times behind another friends 210.......I think whoever is having a bad experience behind either of these does not know how to weight them properly. I will admit the 230 takes a hell of a lot of weight for a big surf wave but when doen right it is amazing.......and it is all about placement. It is a finicky wave when weighting for surfing or boarding.
