I am not at the lake yet and wAnted to know if I can get away with two dual purpose batter or do I need a deep cell and a starting battery. One of mine is on its last leg and I want to pick up a new one before we leave tomorrow. Not sure which one.
is on its way out.
I have a bep vsr and two amps a 6 ch and a 2 channel.

You can use dual purpose but I prefer specific batteries myself. Just picked up 4 Optima blue tops myself for the new stereo (can't beat it at $70 new each...got the hookup)

bought a dual purpose at wally world 105 amp hours 675 cranking amp 68 beans..;)

optimas at sams were 155, just got them in no DP

JMV - I think you did just fine. The key on batteries is to make sure they are deep cycle RV/marine (i.e. posts). And the second key is to make sure you match like kind on the same circuit. So if you add another... match it. 105A will give you some nice reserve.
