We have an '05 Outback LS here in Wisconsin....it really only gets weekend use 3 months out of the year and we always have it stored at the "Stealer-ship".
Recently after the boat was delivered to our lake we noticed a "ticking" sound coming from the transmission area under load (hard acceleration) or above 3K rpm while in drive (no noise in neutral up to redline).
Marina said it was a "plate" in the transmission? Then they said it needed the heads "shaved".....WTF?
Can anyone shed any light on what I should be looking for here (besides a new marina).
Thanks to all.
