Wakesurf Advice

My daughter is really starting to like waksurfing. She is just now figuring out how to control the board and get into the wave. Any tips that might help out would be greatly appreciated.

That is awesome! I am trying to talk my 7 yr old daughter to give it a try but so far, no luck. I'll show her this video, maybe it will motivate her to try it. That's awesome that she was able to get up on the board just at idle speed.

I would tell your daughter to straighten out her back so she is standing up straight while keeping her news slightly bent. Also, she dug the nose of the board in the water so I would recommend that she move her front foot back a little bit towards her back foot (about centered on the front foot pad). She is in the right place on the wave so just tell her to put more weight on her back foot to slow down, front foot to speed up. Other than that, it just practice, practice, practice.

She is doing great and will have it down in no time!

Same here - 8yr old and 10yr old are wanting to try but are a little scared to be in the water by themselves out away from the boat, well the 8yr old anyway. Seeing vids of other kids doing it is highly motivating though - Awesome!
