Ignition Problem

Yesterday my 2009 outback V engine (Assault 325) did not want to start. Today my mechanic check my boat ignition system all the way from the ignition key to the engine starter, and the boat engine is running again. He told me that the system was inhibited and that he reset the whole system. I have my doubts, is there a reset switch between the key ingnition system and the engine starter?

There is a circuit breaker on the engine as well as some fuses nearby the circuit breaker.

If the main breaker were tripped on the engine then the mechanics statement would be true that he reset it
