Another Newbie question here guys...... While we're troubleshooting the stalling problem (another post), Is there a way to RUN the engine in the driveway with a garden hose attached for cooling????
I read the post in the "How To" section about the homemade "D-Drive Flush Kit", however that post is "closed" so I couldn't ask the question there.... I assume that's what we need, just wanted to ask before we burn something up!!!!

You need a fake a lake. Try brats overtons or bass pro

go to home depot, get yourself a plunger, cheap red rubber one with a short handle. then get yourself a hose repair part that has the connection on it for the end of the garden hose your sprinklers hook to. drill hole in plunger on the side and insert the hose repair piece into it. use lots of a permanent glue such as a 2-part epoxy to seal them together. attach the hose to the plunger and the hosebib. stick plunger to bottom of boat where water intake is(looks like a brass grate that hangs down). make sure it fits somewhat tight. start water and start boat. watch for water pouring out exhaust.

don't rev boat to high rpms while doing this. designed to idle..

good luck..

The perko is handy.. i put one on my previous boat (04 Outback) For the 1x per year I have needed with my LSV, I built the Home Depot Plunger set up.. except I upgraded to the $6 plunger instead of the $4.00 plunger..

works great..

there should be several threads of build a fake a lake

For v-drives I like the direct connection pictured here: https://forum.moomba.com/showpost.php?p=59800&postcount=32

I prefer radiator hose though. Just add a PVC barb fitting and hose adapter. Works great and no crawling under the boat!

This is GREAT guys!!! Thank you SO much for the replies!!! I especially liked the link to the "DIY Fake a Lake" thread.... It just so happens that I have a brand new 1 1/4" ID radiator hose in my garage!!!! Been there for years, so long that I have no idea which car I bought it for... At least I NOW have a use for it!!!! :)
thanks again!!!!

Using the new 1 1/4" ID radiator hose that had been collecting dust in my garage for years, along with $2.00 worth of fittings from Home Depot, I made my own flush kit, complete with a shut off valve... Works GREAT!!!!!
Thanks again for all of the replies and help!!!!
