2002 Moomba Outback continues to have thermostat issues. This boat has a new engine, new water pump, new impeller and continues to overheat when the thermostat is in the engine. We moved the thermostat to the top of the intake where the exhaust flows through after reading online that this was the correct place for it and it still doesn't work. The thermostat continues to go over 200 degrees while running, so we shut it down. The new engine runs awesome, but we know that it shouldn't be run without the tstat.

Are you sure the thermostate is installed in the right direction? Also how long till it reaches the 200 mark? Is this at idle or whunder power only?

I dont understand what you mean by moving the thermostate, this should only fit in 1 location on the engine, and it needs to be on the outlet of the engine block where the hot water would be comming out from. On the intake manifold is the normal location.
