I have seen a few posts mentioning venting ballast bags to make sure they fill with water not air.......can anyone tell me how to check if mine are vented and if not how is it done? Thanks

How many hose are connected to your sacs? if you see 2 hoses connected they are most likely vented...

2 hoses on each bag......they drain out the side of the boat like the bilge does

3 hoses on mine when using a seperate drain aerator pump. fill/drain/vent also called an overflow.

2 hoses on another 1100lb sac with a reversible johnson pump and an overflow/vent line.

If you do drill into the side of your boat for overflow/vent discharge through-hulls, run the lines to the opposite side of the boat as when surfing, you won't have sacs draining out due to the lean. And most put check valves on the vent lines so the sacs raisin up better.
