Wow, that's huge nuts.

On my boat, the nut size is 3/4" and you use a 1 - 1/8 " socket.

I bought both a 1 1/16 and a 1 1/8 ( as per Ed) and I can positively confirm that I returned the 1 1/8 socket......this guy even made a video on changing a supra prop and confirmed the 1 1/16 socket. But maybe its different on moombas than supras????

I just went out to the garage and checked my nuts. They are all there.

I don't even own a 1-1/16 socket, I have a 1-1/8" socket and it fits my 3/4" nyloks perfectly.

wonder if somewhere along here we are getting Metric and SAE stuff mixed up.

No , I bought both because I read your post at 1 1/8 but the new nut on my new shaft was a 1 1/16 but I used my old nut when I installed the new shaft. As my boat is 3 hours away and I wanted the proper socket I bought both. In my case both the old and new nut are 1 1/16. Just saying not disagreeing

A 27mm deep socket is an EXACT fit (on my boat anyway). Just changed mine this weekend, and confirmed it just now.

I use one of thos one-size-fits-most sloppy-headed cam-based wrenches. Forgot what they call them, but works pretty slick.

27mm is almost 1 - 1/16.

That makes complete sense it would be 27mm.

The hardware is probably made in China.

People will inspect that the thread is made to U.S. standards, but no-one is gonna check the flat to flat dimensions and I bet that is all over the place.

makes no sense....... 27mm is almost .... implying that it is smaller....... when 1-1/8 is bigger than 1- 1/16........does not make sense...... plus where did 3/4 nylok ever come from .......the klingon system? :)
