View Full Version : resurrecting the endless wave rack

Cab got me in touch with Michael from endless wave and I asked if he would be willing to make another production run on the endless surf rack. He replied that anything was possible. So if you have serious interest in purchasing one please reply here so we can see if we can get enough interest for Michael to make a few more. Please post this on any other sites you frequent, the more people the better the odds..

There are really no details at this point, we just need to see if we can get enough possible buyers to make it worth his time. I did a little research and it seems that they were selling in the 350-400 range the last time they were offered. I am not sure what the price would be now but I realize price will be a factor for some...

Post if your interested.....

the estimate is mentioned above, 350-400 range. basing this off of what they were originally selling for when they were still around. havnet talked price with Michael yet.

As many as you want to stack. It will really depend on the sizes of the boards because the fins will get in the way if all the boards are the same size.

Suggest you get this nailed down with Michael. Maybe you tell him you anticipate ordering ten so what would the price be. He also makes them in different lengths and choice of one clamp or two. I have the shortest length and two clamps - this is what I would recommend for our towers. Plus throw in an option price for a 6 inch extension.

He is pretty tied up until the 20th.. plus one of his machine guys it out for a few weeks. so on the 20th we were going to go over the details.. I just wanted to get an idea of any interested parties.. I didnt want to waste his time if there is no "possible" interest out there...

i know he did have the single point which was a 30 inch, the double point came in 30, 41 and 46 inches

Hey lsvboom, on the other thread I saw your pic of a single clamp with extension. How sturdy is that single clamp? Any tendency to tilt fore/aft?

Looks like a slick solution for a few thick boards. I've got a Titan II going on my Supra rebuild so it'd have to be a 2.25" dia single clamp on the rear hoop & extension to clear the rope swivel. Let me know, I might want to throw my name on the list. Thanks.

Thats not my unit, but I talked to the guy that builds them and he says they are plenty strong and thats what he uses/used on his Nautique...

I am going to order the single clamp with the extension

TL7 - 30" double clamp / 2-3/8" clamp / 6" extension ( I guess, do I need an extension?)

also, can someone verify for me that 2010 LSV tower is 2-3/8? I'm fairly sure it is but want to make sure.

30” double mount for a 2007 OBV

I've had my boat out three times now since I got my rack so I thought I would chime in here. First off, see the pic below showing how I have mine mounted. It's a double clamp and I have the rack slid forward as far as it will go. I had my 5'-3" CWB Ride on it today, upside down with the nose of the board pointing towards the back. When pulling a wakeboarder, the rope goes just over the top of the nose of the board when the boarder cuts way wide to port. So it's not an issue for me.

As far as double versus single clamp, the double clamp will obviously be more stable as it will not be prone to rotate like a single clamp might. However, as you can see in the pic below, if I had a single clamp, I could mount it to the front tube and that would move the rack about 4" forward from where it sits now. That should be enough that the rope would not hit the board when a wakeboarder cuts out wide. I could easily drill a hole in the center of the rack and convert mine to a single if I want. So for the same price, I guess I would get a double and then just drill the hole and convert it to a single if you need to.

Note that the clamps I am using are not the ones that come with the rack - they are from a set of Fusion speaker cans.

And as far as length, I definitely recommend the 30". I had my 5'-9" longboard up there and it was just fine.

Finally, all 2006 and newer LSV's have 2-3/8" diameter towers, 2011 V2 tower excepted.

Cab - thanks for the "review". Since this could be a one run only type deal, I think I'm going to go ahead and order the extensions. If it turns out I don't need them, well then I'll just have to live with the extra parts, but I'd rather have them and not need them than need them and no longer be able to order them.

So, to update my order:
TL7 - 30" double clamp / 2-3/8" clamp / 6" extension x 2 = $370.00

Its sounds like the guy is busy, but if we order them it sounds like he wants to get right on it and get them out. Once I send him what people want I will get an idea of timeframe. Once people have all the details they can decide if they want to pull the trigger or not..

PS Canuckle there could be some additional shipping to canada, not sure. when/if you order you will have to talk to Michael about that.

Can they be obtained with a clamp size for a 1 7/8 tower?

What is the "extension" for?

Thanks in advance,

I can azk about the clamp size. The extension raises the rack up 6 inches so it doesnt interfere with rope.. some say its fine without one though.

Sybermike, after speaking with michael(endless wave) I believe the single point still has 2 clamps but mounts side by side. So you would need 2 extensions.

Everybody,

Micheal is taking inventory of what he has, it seems as though he may have some left over stock. once I hear from him I will let you know. Depending on what he has in inventory it could be a fairly quick delivery.

Just an FYI, went out wakeboarding all day yesterday, total of 6 different riders of varying ability, half regular, and half goofy. Had two boards (5'-3" CWB Ride and 4'-9" React Drive) on the 30" endless wave surf rack (without extensions) and can positively affirm that there is no interference issue between boards and rope. Mine is a two clamp mount and I have it mounted all the way forward (as shown in the pic below). I have the boards upside down on the rack (fins up) with the nose point towards the back of the boat.

Your situation might me different depending on boat model, tower type, amount of ballast, etc. but in my case, there is no interference issue.

Thought some might find this useful.

I reached out to lsvboombox via PM and he is checking (has been very helpful).

For anyone who has an Endless Wave Rack, do you know how wide the two cross-sections are where the board rests? I have a 34" wide standup paddle board as one of the boards I'd like to put on top. I'm assuming the rack sections aren't that wide and I will need to add some extra padding in the middle (don't want the board to rest on the ends that curve up).

Oh and to clarify, I wasn't complaining about the delays, just saying that due to them you may be able to get in on it as I'm doubting material has been cut. I deal with machine shops daily and realize the "mishaps" that can occur. Heck I'm just grateful that he stepped up and agreed to do them for us!

UPS delivered my rack last night. First impressions: wow, this thing is hell for stout - the extensions are solid billet aluminum (I expected tubing), the machined satin clamps are really beefy, & the rack supports are heavy 5/16" plate. This thing shouldn't move a bit once assembled & loaded up. I was surprised that there are no bushings on the clamps to protect the tower finish, but hopefully I'll come up with something that won't slip since I've got the single mount.

Unfortunately for me, mine's going on a project boat that isn't quite ready for the tower & racks - so it'll be awhile before I can test it out. Let me know how it works out for ya'll (especially the other single clamp rack that I saw on the buy)...

Thanks again for pulling this together.
