I ordered my 05 XLV with the Gravity III Ballast. Was this an option in 04? I thought the dealer said i would have allmost 2,000 extra pounds of weight from this system. Is there a normal 3 bag system, and then an upgraded Gravity system? Or is my dealer wrong?

Gravity III ballast just means there are 3 bags, two 270s and a 650. From there, you can upgrade again to the Gravity Games ballast, 800 lb bags and a 1000 lb bag. I would not suggest this for the XLV though. I would run 400 lbs (long skinny sacks) on either side of the egine and the standard 650 bag up front. The wake is huge with just the stock system.

Thanks for the info. I called my dealer, and i did get the Gravity Games ballast. (my bad) I thought more weight would give me a bigger, better wake. Boat is still getting built and i can still change it. Should I????? Thats 610 pounds lighter, and i don't think i will have that many wakeboarders with me. Thanks for the help

I don't think I'd downgrade to less ballast, I'd go as big as you can with the factory ballast because you don't have to fill the sacs full if you don't want it all but if you go too small you'll have to swap out bags or get more later. We started with factory ballast on our LSV and have added 2 more bags in addition to the three that come standard. As long as you can keep the wake clean bigger is more fun.
