Water pump impeller questions

Bought my first Moomba.....seems as if the owner took great care of it but told me he has never had the impeller changed in 3 yrs.......smart for me just to have it done to be on the safe side? Any other suggestions as to what to have the dealer look over? Thanks all!!

Change it out immediately! Your engine could hang in the balance and it costs about $30 bucks or so. If the old one is fine, save it for a spare in a plastic bag. Remove that particular worry now. OK?

I just replaced my impeller last week. This is the first time I changed it since I purchased the boat new in 2008 so I also put 3 years (286hrs) on the original impeller and to tell you the truth it looked brand new.

I could not tell the difference between the new and old other than the old had curved blades from being twisted for 3 years. :)
