My family just bought a 2005 XLV with a 2011 hull. The original owner discovered some cracks and Moomba replaced the hull and put back the original interior/engine. I come from a 1997 Malibu Sunsetter VLX that we surf behind 90% of the time. I was very impressed with the Indmar 325 and the wake prop, the hole shot was great and it held speed great although perfect pass is being installed this week. I loved everything about the boat except I was a little disappointed with the wave. In the old VLX we added a 750 to the v drive surf side (regular), 1100 fly on the side (no warp around), 750 in walk way, and 300 ski locker, no wedge, and had a great wave with a lot of power. This first weekend all we had was the 1100 front ballast, 750 v drive , and 540 lb under observer seat. We were able to surf both sides which was nice but no one liked the goofy side even our goofy riders (although they learned on the Bu). The wave looked nice, had great shape, but lacking in power. So the plan to correct right now is swap out the rear 750 for 1100 that we already have and add 520 of pop bags on surf side. Tell me what y'all think. I know y'all will ask for pics, I will have more later. The only pic I have of the XLV is the beginner falling. The pic of my wife and I are surfing the malibu as a point of reference.

Goofy side is very tempermental to set up. Believe me, I've tried it all from 750 in rear locker to the better 1100. I've also added every combination of extra sacs everywhere to include up to 3,800lbs. Best I could find with decent pocket and push was 1100 rear sac, 400 under seat behind driver, and 400 on top of seat behind driver, just me and my girlfriend in the boat, speed at 11-12.5mph depending on surfboard, and wakeplate anywhere from half to all the way up. I can make a very big wake regular side with 1100 rear sac, 400 on side seat, and 400 on rear bench seat towards the corner.

I know I know, WTH...a pink board. I had to try my girl's board I got her for Christmas (pic was taken on 1/30/11)
