Hi all,

I'm interested by an Outback boat with an Ingmar 5.7l MPI (340hp), and I need to know the fuel consumtion (to be able to estimate the whole cost of this boat).

The use of this boat will be:
- 80-90% Wakeboarding
- 10-20% cruising (faster)

Could someone help me with its knowledge of this boat (or a similar one) ?

Thanks a lot, guys.

Pascal

Figure approx 5 gal per engine hour at wakeboard speeds. All bets are off when pulling a slalom skier at 35 mph.

I have the 325 hp engine and used about 1/3 of the tank in an hour going between 3000 & 4000 rpm. I hope to get at least a days worth of use out of a tank of gas in my boat, that includes wide open, idle, stop, and somewhere in between. If fuel economy is going to be a big issue for you, the smaller V-8 may be a better option. But I don't think there will be a big difference in fuel economy between the motors.

Pascal, I usually get about 5gph, mostly skiing between about 32 and 34mph but also doing some wakeboarding about 18mph. I have a 28 gal tank and never like to run the engine more than 5 hours without refueling. Good luck with the purchase.

I get around 5 to 5.5 gph also with a carburated 350. All I can say is the gauge seems to drop fast!

I have an 03 Outback LS with the 310 carb engine. At 30 mph steady cruise with 6 people on board it gets 2.75 mpg according to GPS on a long ride.checked it twice, same both times.

Hi James,

What do you mean by 2.75 MPG ?

I'm not very confortable with the U.S. unit system, sorry.

I think in Canada they figure it in "litres per kilometer" I don't know how to convert it.I know inboards like gas.;)

crikey!!!!!!............ok then, 1 kilometer per 1.042 liter (approx) give or take a meter or two. :p
.
er.......I may have that backwards......1.042 Kilometers per litre.........whatever.......
