Besides getting a z-5 rack or the monster rack has anyone mounted additional racks on the tower? Looking to mount another set of racks(either for wakeboards or surfboard) If you have any pics please post looking for ideas for mounting additional racks..

Thx

I have two sets of swivel racks and it works like crap unless you load them right. I should have gone w one set of fixed and one set of swivel. I will check and see if I have any pics and post them when I get home.

What racks do you have now and and where are they installed?

Just the standard rack on the (lower)oval cross support. I'd imagine the 2 cross supports are to close to install a second mount on the upper oval cross member?

Its on a LSV by the way

Not sure if you are referring to the Monster cargo rack or Monster racks. I have a Monster wake/surf combo rack mounted above each of my factory racks. I found it to be one of the cheaper, good quality options.

They adjust in two places so they can mount on any angle you have. The racks also adjust width wise which is nice if you have a kids or female board.

Thx KG, I was talking about the racks. I have the bimini that mounts to the cage and its nice and high.. I will check them out.. Do the top ones ever interfere with the rope when cutting out side the wake? thx

Nope, I orginally had them mounted further forward bc i thought they might but it was easier to get the boards in mounted the way they are pictured. They are staggered where if you have a wakeboard in the ones closest to each other, the top boards binding falls in between the two bindings from the lower board.

It just took some trial and error on placement. Like i said, they can mount just about anywhere. Oh, and they are quick release if you don't want them on. Leaves just the collar sitting there.

When I added a Comptech swivelling wakeboard rack, I mounted it low so that the factory rack (on the crossbar) could remain. However, the Comptech was low enough to restrict visibility, so I simply took the factory rack and moved it to a crossbar on TOP of the tower. This allowed me to mount the Comptech higher... a bit too high to swivel fully, but at least it's further back and easier to access.

Sorry that I don't have a good picture to share right now.

I have the same set up as KG - I mounted an additional rack to the rear vertical tube, up high where he has his, except my rack is a double surf rack made by Dbot5 which is now discontinued.

Here's a pic (several tower speakers ago :)

Correct, see below. You can carry an extra surfboard (if it fits in the standard rack) but you can't fit in two extra boards.

Excellent pics to show this. I'm considering adding a second rack up there to hold a kneeboard and a surfboard. I think I might be able to make that work.

Edit: It looks like to do this I'd have to put a wakeboard top down in the bottom rack, a surf board above it, the kneeboard in the lower wider slot in the upper rack and the other wakeboard top up at the top.

Thinking of going with that rack. Thanks for all the pics and guidance...

I got a ski sky rack as well thats on the port side... May go with one first to see if the ski sky intereferes with these racks..

Wish they would make a double surf rack - I need another one.

Room for 16 boards if I counted right

there was a company that made a rack that fit on top of the tower-you could stack about 3 surfboards on it, but they went out of business

I orginally bought the wake/wake and a surf rack and a month later they came out with the wake/surf combo. I called them up and they exchanged mine without any problems. Awesome customer service.

The surf side of that rack is pretty large. I have had two boards in it before.

Actually, pretty sure I have a pic .... on the right side of the pic, there is a surf and a skate in the rack surf part of the rack. I wish i had tried to put two surf in there for reference purpose.
