View Full Version : LakeWakes Group Buy

I've posted before that I like the LakeWakes surf style boards. They are custom built here in the good ole' USA, they ride fantastic, are reasonably priced and very durable. So, since my idea of having a board sharing program flopped, I decided to contact LakeWakes and inquire about a Moomba group buy.
Here is the deal. Call or email LakeWakes and tell them you want in on the MOOMBA2011 group buy (you can also use this discount code on the website when ordering). For only $375 + shipping, you will get your choice of the 4.3 board (ladies/big kid's), the 4.8 board (men's board for those under 200 lbs) or the 5.2 board (men's board for those over 200 lbs). All of these will have the diamond tail design and the XTrack traction.
Also, LakeWakes is going to make this part of the TRADE IN PROGRAM. This program lets the original owner trade in their old board within 1 yr of purchase and receive a $200 credit towards the purchase of a new board.
I put together a fairly simple design for the board:

If you want in on this, the contact info for LakeWakes is:
phone: 678.333.6636
email:
[email protected]
website: www.lakewakes.com/index.php
Hope this helps some of you all that have thought about getting into surfing and want a solid board, but have been scared off by the high price of some of the other brands.

I have ridden Marks's boards. I remember the smiles we all had last year the the Flint River Jam as we tried out these boards. Also, did you know he's an XLV guy? Yea, that's right!
I've only set my boat up for goofy surfing one time. It was for Mark from LakeWakes. Here's a pic from last summer on Sinclair.

Yep, you got the math right. My goal was to get it priced so folks could get a nice board for under $400 delivered. I think most will be able to do that with this deal.

No they wont fit in the stock racks. Both of mine fit in the rear storage compartment, sitting on top of all the life jakets and stuff-one on top of the other-I'm finding that it's easier than putting them in the racks

Not to thread jack...I'm wanting one of these boards because of the reviews and very similar to the Shred Stixx custom or Hazen models BUT a lot cheaper. I have a Shred Stixx Thresher, I'm just wondering if the 4.8 is faster then the Thresher.

might increase sales if you put both the Supra and Moomba logo's on the board.
Great idea & it looks like LakeWakes is good to extend the discount to our SC brothers. I'll work on a design for them and post on the Supra board.

I'm curious about the Inland Surfer Mucus. Looks similar to a Flyboy (buts its no Flyboy by any means)

"We will have some IS boards and a XXX at the Clermont Jam"
really? Who is providing the Inland Surfer demos?
I didn't know any of you guys who are coming, had any I.S. boards.
I have a blue lake quad and Todd has the new swallow tail carbon & one other IS, but I can't remember what model. Stacy has a Smed and Pat the Triple X and I think everyone has at least 1 Broadcast.
Should be plenty of boards to ride and have fun with.
So, YDM, looks like you did jack this thread. :p
I don't know if I am a good enough rider to give a real informed review, but I will be glad to give you my thoughts on the boards.

Way to step up and help out the community with your boards. For anybody that has never thought they would get a custom handmade surf style, you would be crazy to not get in on this. Once you ride one, you will wonder how you ever did without.

I ordered the 4.8, which is the same size as your pirate board, but . . .
(suspense, suspense, suspense)
This board has a different shape on the bottom at the tail section that will let it move side-to-side a bit easier and it has a bit more rocker toward the nose to help with pearling.
REALLY wish it was ready to bring down to FL this weekend!

HA! I have the demo 5.2 for you to try this weekend! Bet you end up digging in the couch for loose change to get that $375 after you ride it. The 5.2 is for the 200lb+ club and at $375 is a steal.

I am not a real big ball fan. I root for whoever is playing. My long time friends are Ga. Dogs fans so I cheer for them . Normal build times are 15 business days. And Wolfman will have all 3 models to try at the Sinclair jam. These 3 boards have the new Hull design like the prototype Quad fin board that Drew and Stacy rode in Orlando.

Hey All,
When I picked up my new board, Mark asked if my girls would demo his new GROM board. The video below is my 9 yr old over Memorial Day weekend in some real choppy water. She really liked the board! It was fast and carved easily for her. She weighs just around 65 lbs.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UqGn-ZS5N40
So, LakeWakes has added the GROM to the 2011 Moomba Group Buy!!
For US customers only (sorry, my Great White North Brothers) you can get this board for your kiddos for only $315 DELIVERED. This is an awesome price to get a great board for your little ones to learn on.

Met up with Mark from LakeWakes yesterday to pick-up my new Moomba WakeSurf Crew board. Looks awesome and can't wait to try it out. Hopefully, I'll have some "action photos" to post this weekend. At this point I'm not sure I'll be able ride as it's 6 teenage girls, wife and me at the lake this weekend. And as far as I can tell at least 3 of them have a crime scene in the pants. Wish me luck!
Mark - Thanks for the offering us Moomba owners a custom board at a great price!

The girl's LAKEWAKES GROM arrived this weekend and let me tell you that, IMO, for the $315 delivered price, this board CAN'T BE BEAT! Light, fast, durable, easy rider that can be carved like crazy, not to mention my girls description of "SUPER FUN!" Looks like some sweet upgrades too with new HydroTurf traction, arch rail and kick plate.
I have some great video to post later (upload speed is too slow at the lake), but here are some pics of my 9 yr old daughter (who weighs about 65 lfrom bs) the gopro that I thought were cool.
