We finally made the maiden voyage with the new to us 24. Man, what a HUGE difference from the Supra 20. I felt like little kid in candy store when we hit the water. It's been a LOOOONG winter of upgrades to a boat that only had a test drive done before winterizing. Conditions weren't ideal yesterday, but I was sick of waiting. Hoping to get some more time on the water this weekend!

Here's a few pics

Man, that is by far my favorite part. We all surf goofy, so its also the best spectator seat in the house as well as extra ballast without having to move any one around.

This is an odd question, but is KG a man, or a woman? I always assumed that KG was the female companion to dusty, but I'm starting to second guess that...

HAHAHAHA! He is going to love that!!

KG is not a female companion. We met on the Supra forum and have become very good "real life" friends.

HAHA!!

There is never excuse for men to be "Bromancing".

Now both of you go crack open a beer and go build something with your bare hands, quick!

Wow, look what happens when I leave for a weekend!

I feel like I need to say something here, just not sure what.

I deny being a female. I deny being in a bromance with Dusty. Deny Deny Deny!!!

Dusty and I do have the same boat (different color schemes) with very similar upgrades but thats about it.

Nope thats normal women get away with it.

Just like they goto the bathroom together and theres nothing wrong with that. Only time its proper for 2 men to goto the bathroom at the same time is if its outdoors and your pissing on a tree.

Me and some guys from school are going up to texoma for a competition over memorial day weekend. You think we'll be able to find any smooth water? We'll be at mill creek marina.

cmtaylor777

Don't count on it.

Its a busy weekend and it isnt the best lake for smooth water anyways.

Texoma ... smooth water .... good joke!

There will be a pretty big group of us around, though. Hit us up. Ask Chad or Dusty where we are going to be. I just know ill be fighting the white caps.

dusty2221
05-03-2011, 09:54 AM
Yeah, honestly, you are gonna be hard pressed to find good smooth water. And where you are going, Mill Creek, which is where the comp is, is pretty much a one boat cove. 2 boats can run the cove, with 2 good riders, other than that, forget about it. Unfortunately that side of the lake doesn't offer many other close coves where smooth water can be found.

A large group of us are camping over at Platter Flats, which is about 25-30 minute boat ride away. If you get up there early (by 8) you can usually ride right out in the open along the bank on the right as you head out of Mill Creek.

Lemme know if I can give you any more info. I grew up on Texoma, well, got older anyways. I'll never grow up.

bzubke1
05-03-2011, 11:11 AM
Well apparently they block off the cove for some practice runs behind the tow boat on saturday, and then sunday is the real contest. We'll probably try and get a few runs in on the brazos before we leave for texoma on friday morning. So I guess riding won't be a very big priority but hopefuly I'll see a couple of yall on the lake. Otherwise we might make the ride over to platter, but we don't wanna take yall's smooth water.

Def make the trip up to the Platter area.

I'll have to get one of those contour lake maps to help me out but is there many underwater hazards on the lake?

dusty2221
05-03-2011, 11:56 AM
I went to Mill Creek the Wednesday night, it's very shallow right now, about halfway into the cove it was already down to 10 foot, which means past that it's likely less than 5.

There isn't much you need to watch out for, if you guys head out of Mill Creek and go straight across you will be headed towards the Islands. Plenty of beach and people watching spots there. However, watch the depth going between them, there are sandbars that love to stop boats dead in the tracks!
