After 14 years and 2 boats, I finally upgraded from my Landcruiser. I still have her though, as I'm still debating on whether to sell her or not.

Here is the new toy puller. 2011 Toyota Tundra..Loaded w/ leather and sunroof. I put new shoes on her feet immediately. 20" BMF Novakane 5s w/ Pirelli Scorpians

What are you getting for MPG? I have gotten as good as 20, but during the winter is has been around 16.5. Soon as it warms up I should see an increase.

I have only taken it to Tampa and only have about 600 miles on her, but I averaged about 16.5 mpg for that trip. That's a lot better than the 11-12 that I got from my Full Time 4WD on my Lancruiser. The Landcruiser was good to me after 200,000 miles, so I have no complaints with the Toyota brand.

I live off 218...I like to hit Kingsley early in the morning before the crowds and during the glass. If I don't have a lot of time, I hit Black Creek..it's real close and always glassy. Have to be careful of the curves on the Creek. Unresponsible boaters fly around them dangerously. Had 2 teens killed out there last month. Hit a tree branch coming around a curve. Sad.

Nice! I have a 2010 Crew max...it's a 4.6L. I really wish I had gotten a 5.7. Mine pulls pretty well but you can definitely feel her back there and it GUZZLES the gas on the way to the lake (100 Miles one way).

Your milage will improve around the 5K to 7500 mark.

When we bought Claudia's Equinox Sport last year and took it to El Paso on the way down we only got 16 to 18 on the HWY i was furious as my F150 4x4 got that. Then once the engine hit the 5K mark the mileage jumped right up to 24 on the highway. Now she gets 16 in the city and 24 to 26 on the hyw and shes at 12K now.

I have a 2006 dodge ram quad cab 4x2 with the 5.7l hemi and I get about 18.5 on the highway at 70 mph. My dad has a 2006 Lincoln navigator with the 5.4 and it gets 21.6 mph at 65 mph.

I have never heard anything good about the tundra when it comes to fuel mileage, never ridden in the new 5.7 one myself, just the older 4.7 but from everything I have heard th gulp gas

Are any of us truely worried about gas mileage? If we were, we wouldn't own boats that suck down $100 a day in gas or the trucks and SUVs that pull them. We would all own a Toyota Prius hybrids or Ford Festivas. Bad gas mileage comes with the territory of the boating passion and hobbies that most of us here love.

I care about the mileage when NOT towing. The boat gets less long-term operation than the truck and some people kick in gas money for the boat. I don't have the luxury of having a multi-vehicle family, so my tow vehicle is also my everyday vehicle. I don't drive to work, but it's still used more than I expected.

mine was an 06 F150 Supercab 4x4 with the 5.4 Triton engine. It had the 3 valves per cylinder. Also i had upgrades exhaust and a programmer on it.

I think the 06 had a different tune strategy then the -4 off the factory so it improved mileage a bit. Biggest problem with them really is the truck weighs in at over 6K and thats a lot of truck for a gas engine.

I am worried about gas mileage since I drive about 500 miles round trip to work and back every month. My truck is my primary vehicle and towing the boat is rare occasion. Usually if I am home my gf and I use her suv as it gets about 7-8 mpg better in town than my truck does.

I very rarely buy boat gas, that is what friends who don't have a boat payment are for. When ever someone new gets on my boat I make it clear that helping with gas is not required but if you want to be invited back out again it is strongly suggested. I don't like free loaders, you have to pay to play
