Very sad and maddening all at the same time. We just had a shooting out here at a big mall Wed, then a HS lockdown here in town yesterday for a gun found, then this on the news this morning. So sad. Prayers to all the families faced with this unimaginable tragedy.

OK, he wouldn't want me to mention it on here but please join me in prayers for one of my best friends in this world and a guy who means a lot to so many on here. Moombadaze is going through some personal health issues and was admitted to the hospital. Let's all get behind him in the spirit of the season. There's no better guy on here that exemplifies the spirit of helping each other that is what this board is about. Please join me in heartfelt prayer for one of the good ones-- a speedy and full recovery in time for the holidays. God bless you and your family Stacy! Our prayers our with you!

Need some prayer lifted for a brother I have worked with for 13 years. He beat testicular cancer last year and came back to work strong as ever. Now the cancer has spread to his brain and he's been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. Can't get my head wrapped around something like this. My man is just 40 years young with a wife and 2 kids who still need daddy in their lives.

just left ICU after visiting my man Mike. he is in a coma and on life support. his dad told me tomorrow at 7pm they will turn off the machines that are keeping him alive. he has 15 tumors, yes 15, in his brain and it has swelled and moved his brain to where he will not recover.

Mike was at work on Monday after having a terrible headache on Sunday. he called his doc and told him of his symptoms and doc told him to go to the ER and he would met him there. Mike was admitted and early Tuesday morning had a seizure and has not been conscience since then. his wife and two young children are by his bedside along with numerous friends and family members. Prayer is strong and very much needed.

thanks friends....

Please keep my wife and family in your prayers. We're expecting, yes, again, and she's 11.5 weeks along. She started bleeding Sunday, spend the afternoon in the ER, and her doc came and said everything looks fine with her and the baby. So she's on bedrest for a few days until she stops, not real easy with 8 others running around the house, but at least the older ones are helpful. She goes back to he dr. this afternoon for a checkup. She's a worrier, even though you'd think she'd mellow out after so many, I think she's getting worse. Lol.

My wife and I are currently pregnant with a set of twin boys, this is our first pregnancy after trying for some time. We're currently at 20 1/2 weeks and she was just put on bed rest. I've been there too, 13 years ago. It was absolutely scary. My two guys came almost 7 weeks early. They were in the hospital for about 10 days then came home after they put on some weight. They had heart monitors on all the time. Sometimes the leads taped to their chests would come off and the alarm would sound in the middle of the night. It was the scariest thing in the world. What was scarier was after we got used to the false alarms and didn't take them as seriously. Never knew which time it might be for real. It was very stressful but we got through it and they ended up healthy. Our prayers are lifted for you, your wife and your two special new family members. You will make it!

haha. that'd be quieter! When we outgrew our Suburban we traded it in for a Chevy 3500 15 passenger van. In order for it not to look completely like a "church bus" as most people around here call it, I've put some pinstripes and aftermarket wheels on it, along with tinted windows and a billet grille...and of course a rockin' stereo system to drown out the crying and fighting

On Sunday, one of my wife's coworkers kids were riding on a tube and were struck by another boat on Lake Joe Pool. Two of the kids were okay, one went to the hospital by ambulance and will be fine, the fourth child received major damage to the frontal lobe of his brain. He is currently in an induced coma. This family could use some prayers as they deal with this tragedy and also as the dad feels responsible since he was pulling his kids.

wolfeman131
09-03-2013, 12:58 PM
Wow. Hard to read that post as I had my 3 and 1 of their friends on tubes this past weekend. Neighbor kids even joined in at one point and we had 6 kids from 5-15 on 3 tubes behind the boat. We try to be ever vigilant about others and will get downright rude when they get too close, but things can happen so fast.

Certainly feel awful and will pray for all of them.

Prayers working. After a week of deep coma meds, he's off them, starting to breath on his own and even opened his eyes for a few seconds this morning. He still has a long way to go, fighting fevers, brain pressure spikes and pneumonia, but hopefully he will have another good week. Docs still can't tell what kind of permanent damage there is until he is off all
Meds and machines, but with prayers and Gods will, he will pull through and everything will work out.

just to give an update on the twins...

we're at 26 weeks now, 2 weeks bedrest at home, then she did 2 weeks at the hospital, now she's staying back at her folks place for the remainder of the pregnancy since they are 10 minutes from the hospital and our house is about an hour or so.

babies are slightly above average in size, which is great for twins. they said they are bigger then average because she is on bedrest, so i guess more nutrients or whatever are going to the babies since she's mostly just laying down watching TV.

she is going stir crazy though, and missing shopping at the mall... lol

Thanks for caring everyone!

Hopefully he will pull through with no permanent damage. That is very scary for all involved. One of the reasons we avoid Joe Pool at all cost. To many inexperienced jet ski and boat operators. It's gotten bad since they started renting pontoon boats and jet skis. I make it a point to avoid lakes the rent watercraft!

not sure about down in the USA, but in Canada we have a Boat Operator card.. basically a boater's license.. it's just a pretty basic test and you pay and get a card (Not really on the spot, you can do the test online and they'll mail it to you).. but I believe it has eliminated a lot of the jetski rental industry.. which is good, because having someone inexperienced rent a jetski is a death wish to them and others. nothing to stop someone from getting the card and renting a jetski, but atleast it's a step that helps possibly prevent it.

newer guy to the forum - and just found the thread .... good news...NO GREAT NEWS!!! as a father of four my heart sank when reading that ...... We had some JA following way to close last week.... while our daughter was kneeboarding ....after wanting to ring the idiots neck ....but trying to remain calm in front of other kids ..... i warned them again about people like that and not to try any tricks if they feel someone is to close ..... and also god forbid if they have to .... but swim to the bottom if they think somethings gonna get em....

congrats on good news on twins progress....

Prayer concern of my own for a dear friend of mine ..... his wife has a history of loosing mother an aunt to a form of breast cancer - but both were later in life .... she has been proactive and as a matter of fact had recently had a mammogram that showed nothing ....they were already looking into removal because of the high risk....

anyhow end of July she went in fro another console (1 month after mammogram) cause she thought she felt something small..... she was in OR with in 4 days for removal ......removed some lymph nodes and they were as well ....removed them all .... testing came back they were only a few ...... she is Class 3B or c (i don't recall) anyhow she is doing chemo now and is handling it well and things look good....after this she has radiation - so they can used continued prayers until the end of February to conclude her treatments - she is 44 years old and mother of 3.

thanks

Thanks for the prayers. Never underestimate their power. Took the ng tube out today and she might get to come home tomorrow. Almost lost our daughter when she was 9 due to intestinal damage from Chron's. She spent Thanksgiving and Christmas in the hospital. She has stayed in remission for 12 years with biological drug invusion treatments every 6 weeks @ $10K a pop and now the wife will start the same treatment. Most of the cost is for the drug. Thankful for my job with good health insurance but worry what my daughter will face after she turns 26.

You and your family are in our prayers this Christmas day. I hope you don't get discouraged. I am convinced this life is a test to get us ready for the life to come. The Lord gives challenges to those who can handle them. A higher place is reserved for all of you. May the Lord bless and keep you and heal you in His time. Prayers for strength in the meantime. All the best from our family to yours this day.

For those on fb, please check out INT of Georgia for updates and to post encouragement for Slade Erickson. He was participating in an INT wakeboarding event this past weekend on Lake Hartwell and broke both femurs while riding.

Requesting your prayers please... I had an AWESOME wakeboard run Friday afternoon. on my last jump of my 2nd run I landed and slid out. While I was sliding on my butt, the front of the board caught and pulled away, stretching my knee until it pulled apart :( Later in the day, after keeping it iced, it wasn't swelling and didn't hurt to put weight on it, so i went for a surf run. Went great. 2nd run i grabbed a skim-style board and tried a spin. Fell, but no biggie. Tried again and really messed up my knee. Have a dr. appt at 3 today, so we'll see...

update:
So I"m looking at MRI images with the dr. this morning and he says "See that dark spot there? That's where your ACL is supposed to be." :(

Complete tear of my ACL, small tears in other ligaments, and bruised bones. At least my MCL is not damaged...

Starting physical therapy tomorrow, meeting with surgeon next week. Surgery in 2-3 weeks I guess.

Prayers appreciated!

More prayers your way Ryan for a speedy recovery.

I had a booboo on Friday - right knee buckled on impact. Kind of screwed up the weekend. Still able to sort of walk but any twisting and I'm done. See what the doc says here soon.

Well hopefully not too bad. Dr says bad muscle strain and problems with the meno poppy (meniscal popliteal?) nerve - everything keeps going numb from knee down. Says to start with PT recovery and strengthening session. If I can't do the moves then back in for MRI.

orthoscopic surgery will be first week in Oct. to put a dead person's ACL in my knee. Doc said I do have some meniscus damage that's he's going look at while he's in there and then make the decision on what to do with it.

I was wondering that but forgot to ask. I don't think so, as I've never heard of anybody's body rejecting one...And I've talked to a lot of people lately that have had knees re-done. Let's hope I'm not the first :O

Praying for you Stacy. Hopefully she's doing a little better by now?

As an update (apologies for waiting so long), I"m back to work full time today, 1 day short of 4 weeks after having an ACL replacement and meniscus repair. I was on crutches for 3 weeks. I started half days at work after 2 weeks. I got the boat winterized and put away. I have repaired motorcycles that my kids broke while I have to watch from the back porch (killing me not to ride!!!). It hasnt' been a cake-walk, but it hasn't all been as bad as it could be either. thanks for all your prayers. Keep them coming! I will be flying to Chicago and back twice over the next 2 weeks, and be staying there for all but 2.5 days of the next 2 weeks. Not looking forward to it at all... Thanks.

Been a while since I've cruised this thread but had a good scare at work today that made me think of it.

A coworker and good friend was walking down the hallway right outside my office and bam - went face down on the carpet, lights out. Few of us got right to him, rolled him over and he was eyes wide open, non responsive, blood in his mouth. He was breathing and had a pulse so we basically had to wait it out until he came back to us while the ambulance was on the way. Was only a minute or two but looking down at his black empty eyes it felt like an eternity...

Later in the day here I learned that 10 or so years ago he had an infection of some kind near his brain that had him out of work for a few months. Praying that not he's not going to face any difficulties and that this was just a fluke. He's only 52.

Two years ago, Petty lost his SWAT partner to a senseless act. I don't know that I could do what Jason & his brothers do, but I do know that I'm thankful that there are men like him and his partner, Chuck, who will put their lives on the line for my family & me.

Please take a minute and say a prayer for Chuck, his family, Petty & his entire SWAT team.
