Okay, maybe this is a stupid question, but I've got the new ones in, now how do I go about replacing them? Do they just pop off? It's an 04 lsv btw.

If they are the gas springs, then on each end there is a rounded end piece that the ball end of the mounting pins go into. There is also a metal strap that wraps around the end piece in a groove. Bisecting the metal strap is another groove from the top of the end piece passing under the strap. Use a small flat blade screw driver to slide into the slot that passes under the metal strap. Do not pry as the strap can come off and fly away never to be seen again. just slide the screwdriver blade gently into the slot under the strap and pull away from the mounting pin until it releases.

Installing the new one can be done in the reverse order or it usually works to just put the ball into the end piece and tap the end piece, the strap usually spreads then snaps back around the ball.

Most gas springs recommend the skinny rod end of the spring to be on the bottom, but check instructions to be sure.
