05 outback steering

I have stiff steering and would like to know where to get a new cable and or I've heard of drilling the cable and lubing it. I'm looking for any info that would help.

I would replace it. I used part # SSC15418 from First Choice Marine about $142.00. Its easy to do. I pulled the floor up behind the engine, disconnected the cable from the rudder and tied a rope to it, disconnected from the steering wheel and pulled it foward, installation was backwards of removal, pulled it through and bolted it back up. I have an 05 Outback as well. It will make a HUGE difference.
