With a little help from a friend of ours.
This is my godson trying his hand at surfing. He loves the tube, likes the knee board and seems to like surfing.
We will see what this season brings!!

You people making him brave. He looks so happy there, in second and third picture from his face looks like he is holding a rope and giving his full effort.

I might try that in reverse to get my son out on the board with me.

Never tried that as I was worried about crashing off the start and ruining the experience for them. We started out in the water. With the little guy, it's easy to hold him in your one arm and the rope with the other. The older one I had him actually stand on the board in between my legs to start.
We used this dismount as quick way to get them back in the boat. Also, because it was their first time I didn't want them to be scared while we waited for the boat to come back and pick us up and then not want to go again. Did I mention I had to bribe them with candies to give it a try?
Now they love it and will go with me anytime.

I just got a "you should do that with me" from my (chicken) 5 y/o. I love showing him pics of kids smaller/younger than him doing stuff.

She was driving the boat and taking video.
The funny part was the negotiation on the number of candies. Will you do it for three winegums....? Four........? Five?

HA! I got the same thing from my girls after they saw those pro waksurfin' Flegel boys do the one-on-the-other's-shoulder's trick. My reply was heck no, I'm lucky to stay on the board all by myself!
