I would like to get an idea of the numbers we would be trying to order. Even if you already responded, please respond here. Assume you have a choice between a cotton T with the logo on the front or a water wicking shirt with the same Roo logo. I think we will be able to do both but need to know what the numbers are. Thanks!

Is the plan to put the large logo on the front? I thought (and hoped) that a large logo would go on the back, with maybe a smaller logo on the front. I would be in for that, but am not sure if that is still the plan. Can you clarify the layout? Thanks.

Two of each for me, 2 short sleeve cotton and two short sleeved wick shirts

Still working on the logo. With my source it is a lot cheaper to put just a single color logo on the front. They would be willing to let us mix shirt styles and colors if I guarantee an order of 50 shirts. I think we can do that. I think the Roo logo with the word Moomba below it on the front would be cool on either a T or a wicking type shirt. I also think we have about an even split between each kind with lots of folks wanting both. Give me a little more time. Anyone with design ideas feel free to post them up.

Please remember for everyone's sake that we cannot please everybody. We are shooting for a reasonable compromise that most people will enjoy. My vision is to offer two different shirts in choice of 10-12 colors and in all normal sizes. The logo will probably be available in either white or black so you can get a light or dark colored shirt and still see it.

Finally, I am trying to make a deal so that anyone who wants to special order a long sleeved black one with a gold logo can use the artwork. Thanks for your patience all.

I would be in for wicking shirts as long as they are not the skin tight type and dependant on the design. Would prefer the logo on Back and maybe just Moomba on the front.

I like the idea of the big Roo on the back of the shirt. It is simple and might be a good topic started when people see it. Or a big Roo on the back and pocket size MOOMBA on the front where the pocket would be. Just my .02.

probably in the coozie poll.
you can cut/past with your official moderator powers if you like :)

Guys, if we don't have 50 shirts worth of interest I don't think this is going to happen.

Right now it looks like, if we can do this, it would be the small roo logo on the front left chest with MOOMBA under it, the big roo logo on the back.

You would be able to pick from about 12 shirt colors depending on the type of shirt but the logos would have to be the same color front and back, you can choose either white or black (there is a re-inking charge for every color so we can only do it once).

The prices to you including any setup, reink charge and shipping to me would be:

Standard T : 9.00 (plush actual shipping from me to you)

Water wicking T: 14.00 (plus actual shipping from me to you)

Water wicking Longslv 18.00 (plus actual shipping from me to you)

For comparison, this was the post by sandm with the prices from his source:
. . .

Just got off the phone with the dude that I use here. how about this idea...

skiing roo on the back blown up to take up a large chunk of the back-either very small roo and moomba underneath on the front where the pocket would be, or just moomba on the front(I like that as it's clean).
price is $20 setup fee.
shirt prices are as follows-assuming we can get 36+ ordered(any less not worth it)
short cotton-$9.05
long cotton-$11.30

short wicking-$15.55
long wicking-$16.30

if we had 36 ordered, then the $20 setup would be spread into the shirts adding .55 to each price, then 6% tax and any shipping charges.

if everyone was just happy with a single sided shirt, you can take .75 off each piece. I personally like the 2sided.

I'd be more than happy to put this together, but would need someone(ian??) to send the logo's digitally. I have access to a decal of the skiing roo, but not sure how clean it would scan up.
. . .

I am going to try something else too. There is a local shop that does work for my men's group. I am going to see if they will do the setup so we can order other stuff later or next year.

sandm

I think you'll get close to 50, but doubt if it'll be much more than that.
there's 25 just in the one or one/two category above, but some of those I'm sure will flake.

T shirt is a basic t-shirt.

Short sleeve wicking is Augusta 790:

Back logo is a big roo all by itself. Front logo is small on left side chest and looks like this:

I am waiting for a final quote and expect to post up proofs in the next couple of days. The plan is to open orders for 2 weeks. At the end of that period it will close until maybe next fall or next year when we do another run. You will need to send cash, check or money order directly to me for the cost of shirts plus shipping. Please, if you have Moomba friends near you try to send your orders in together and I'll ship to one person who can then distribute the shirts to the others.

We are going to try to offer both cotton and water wicking shirts in short or long sleeved and in multiple colors. The plan is to offer a few interesting colors and a few neutral colors. Right now it looks like the logos will have to be black only so think about lighter colors for the base shirt color.

More in a day or two but GET READY!

If you send a paypal as a "gift" they don't charge anything.

viking
04-22-2011, 12:06 PM
Viking - it's done when you create a new thread.

try it - start a new thread (temporary), then scroll to the bottom of the page and you'll see the poll set-up under "additional options" (or something like that).

I tried that awhile back and just looked it over again. There is a check box down at the bottom when creating a new thread that asks for poll questions. When I check it doesn't give any options other than # of answers (up to 10). I don't see anywhere where you create the questions and such? Am I totally missing something? Not that important, just feeling stupid!

kaneboats
04-22-2011, 12:21 PM
I think you have to pick the # of answers first and then on the next screen it lets you build the poll. It's kind of user unfriendly but it works. Go ahead and try a dummy one like: How many folks know how to create a poll?
1. Don't know. 2. Already know. 3. Don't care. 4. Gave up learning years ago.

kaneboats

I just un-stickied this thread. I finally received the other quote I was waiting for. It was WAY too high for me to responsibly pursue it any further. I did have one other quote that was more reasonable but the guy was unwilling to do a mockup before receiving 50% payment. I don't know how I am supposed to ask for orders without letting everyone see a sample. So, I am resigning. That's the bad news.

The good news is that a fellow moderator may have interest in picking up the ball and running with it. The offering might be a little different but it looks like he may have a more workable plan. I'll pass on everything I have including logos, quotes, etc. If anyone else has an interest in doing this, please feel free to PM me with your e-mail address and I'll forward you the same info. I'll let these folks post up their info when they are ready.

Advice to anyone who tries this: Pick one shirt and run with it. You can't please everyone anyway so just offer something. Good luck!
