If I'm going to add a 4th pump for my IBS, is there any issue with using the Johnson vs the Jabsco? The Johnson has a higher flow and is still ignition protected, plus it's quite a bit cheaper.

Also, rookie question, but do I need any NPT to barb fittings, or will the 1" hose slide over the outlets of the pump directly (with hose clamps, obviously)?

Lastly, should I add a "T" to the thru hull for my center sack to add the pump or should I add another thru hull? If the former, where can I get a bronze threaded "T"? Didn't see one at Wakemakers. If the latter, where is the best place to add it? The fill time isn't a huge concern as the 1100's in the rear will take a while to fill anyway. Mainly looking at the Johnson due to price, the faster flow is just a bonus.

I'd say the Johnson pump because of it's specs and it never had the impeller issues the Jabscos did (even though that's reportedly solved)

I dunno, if I had 3 Jabscos I'd probably get the 4th to match so the impellers were the same and I'm OCD like that. Otherwise Johnsons all day long.

Brain - was looking at your mods and ran across this pic. This threaded "T" would be exactly what I'd need should I decide to just "T" off the existing thru hull rather than add another. Do you remember where you got this? Didn't find anything like it at wakemakers. Haven't looked at Lowes yet; was hoping to get everything I needed through WM before I started piecing it together elsewhere.

Wakemakers has the stuff to create a tee like that, but not 1 piece. I ordered those 1 piecers at the bottom of this page: http://www.sprinklerwarehouse.com/Combination-Insert-Tees-s/182.htm

if your going to use a tee fitting on top of the thru hull get the same pump-you dont want one pump moving more water as that will slowly starve the other pump of water--make sense? I would recomend just putting in a dedicated thru hull and get the johnson pump
