i just recently joined the moomba family by purchasing a 2000 mobius, after selling the old 82 stars and stripes,i just wanted to know about the ballast, how much it holds,is there cleaning procedures, how do in know it fills up all the way, and last but not least can someone explain the speed calibration for me.

The speed calibration looks like a pain; I have never seen ski buoys in real life. I plan to run with my GPS and turn knobs until they match.

Check the on line manuals for ballast data. My kids are too small to worry ballast just yet.

There are multiple ballast configs available. Do you have a d-drive? Front and rear ballast? Hard or soft tank in hte back?

Speed calibration is easy. For a stock boat 3000 rpm = 30 mph

There are 2 hard tanks under the panel of the aft ski storage(under the sundeck). one tank is 20 gals. and the other is 17 gals, this will give you close to 300 lbs. of ballast when both are full. There should be 2 speedo calibration rocker switches just above the driver armrest, they should be labeled port and stbd. Take the boat up to 3000 rpm, and use the rocker switches either up or down until both speedos read 30 mph. Hope this helps. Brian Raymond
