I checked the oil today and when I went to put the dipstick back in it would only go in about 8 or so inches and then get stuck. I tried every to put it in at every angle tried to jam it in, nothing. I checked the tube all the way to the block and its not kinked or anything. Anyone had this problem before.

not to be an idiot, but have you checked it before?, is this the first time you have had it out?

No, i've done 4-5 five oil changes on it, and check it weekly. I don't know what gives. My brother told me the dipstick wouldn't go back in and I thought he was an idoit til I gave it a try for 15 minutes.

remove the dipstick tube and check it for any kind of obstruction

Yeah I'm gonna do that tomorrow morning and see what the deal is. Looks like theres only one bold holding it on.

I always force it until something breaks. Then I cuss at the object in question that broke. Then I try to find the parts to fix it. Eventually, after finding the best deal, I order the parts or have them repaired. Then I cuss the cost of the part or repair and complain to my co workers that things suck. The repair or replacement of the broken part takes twice as long as I thought, and I cuss, then it is fixed on Sunday evening and I missed 2 or more days of skiing.

Boating is grand. Sorry, I have nothing useful for this thread.

in my 99 indmar it was just a friction fit, wiggle and pull and it slowly comes out

It looks like it is friction fit into the block but there is a bracket halfway up that holds it in place.
