I took our OBV down to the dealer in November to get winterized last year and since it was closing in on 100 hrs we had the 100hr service done at the same time.

Since the dealer is 3 hours South we get it dewinterized at a local Malibu shop and they indicated that it is not a good idea to get the 100hr service immediately before storing it for winter (which for me is really only 2-3 months).

Thoughts?

Did you ask them why? Other than having your new impeller mashed in there I don't see any drawback. You want to store with clean oil, etc.

I dont see any issues myself.

Maybe leave the impeller out and have it installed at dewinter time.

I'm racking my brain trying to come up with an answer as to why not.........can not think of a good reason.......but checking alignment should be done with the boat floating not on the trailer......yet I believe its pretty much a diy if you want that done.
