The storm left twenty inches of snow and five foot drifts at our house. Thankfully power and satellite services were never lost. Blizzard wind pounded us from the east, pushing snow through the porch windows. Never before had that happen. Today snow stopped around noon and the sun came out. Time to shovel. Finished late this afternoon. Now the arctic cold is on its way down from Canada, scheduled to arrive tonight. Sure could use a warm, lazy day at the lake. Cheers.

I used to move mountains of that stuff. Too bad we can't save it and drop it in the FL lakes in July and August.

bzubke1 - We live in Deerfield, about a 45-minute drive southeast from Antioch. In the summer we play on Lake Mary in the town of Twin Lakes, Wisconsin. No doubt you are familiar? - Deerfield

blkoutls - Are you saying pictures you took did not work or you are unable to see the pictures in my post? Sometimes I'll come across someone's post and I don't see the pictures. Just wondering if that is happening here. - Deerfield

Deerfieled,

I worked in Deerfield for 8 years off of Lake Cook Road in the complex that the Bulls practice facility is in. Don't miss the snow.

What is funny is I'm supposed to drive to Dallas tonight which is a 3 hour drive and I am contemplating not going because we are going to get 3 inches of snow. (It never snows here). I used to think anything under 6 inches of snow was an inconvenince not a problem.

i drove from elk city oklahoma, through fort worth and into houston tuesday morning as it was all hitting. it was a little hairy at points but you just have to drive smart is all. a 4x4 would be good to have in it but my 2wd ranger did good

A guy in a rock crawler saved the day. Shows how prepared we are for snow and ice down here.
