Well, when I was a kid my Dad gave me an old wooden 16 ft. "speedboat" with a 25 HP Evinrude on it. We used to ski behind it.

First one I paid for was a Chapparal 162xl. Still a sharp looking but very small boat. Used to let all the kids in the neighborhood play in it. No power tilt on the Evinrude 88 but that baby would fly.

when I was a kid, memories of the cabin our family had on payette lake in mccall were mostly of my dad spending every weekend we were up there(usually 4-5 a year) working on the 65hp evinrude on a 16ft tri-hull. that thing never ran right.

I got the bug after selling my '06 evo and deciding to get something more "family friendly" instead of a nice car. went to the lake in my cousins '06 tige 22ve one wed. night and bought a boat the next weekend.

Another late bloomer here but hey, i am only 23! I used to ride in my grandad old trihull with a 125 johnson on it that was always broke down. then my dad had like 17 foot maxum back in the early 90s and then all i got to ride in was friends parents boats and my buddy tanners 1987 bayliner with an awesome 85 force on the back! Now I have my very own!

Here's our first. A 1976 Forrester tri-hull with a 75 hp chrysler outboard. Blew the engine our first trip out because the impeller was shot and we didnt notice. Spent most of the summer rebuilding it. It sank once. Dried the engine out and was good as new again. We sold it when we got our moomba and ended up seeing it on a road trip this summer (last pic). Having a crappy boat really makes you appreciate having one that is trouble free, at the time I loved it though. You can truely have fun on any boat as long as you're on the water.

Mine was a 1989 178 SeaSwrl Spyder with a 150 Evinrude XP. Fun boat, and very reliable. I grew up next to the original owners, bought it from them in '95 when I got married, and just sold it last spring for my Moomba. Sorry, i don't have any pictures handy...It was off-white with dark blue stripes and very ugly baby blue interior, but it sure was in great shape, even when i sold it.

I havent had a chance to ride the LSV wake yet. Bought the boat just before the freeze and had it on the lake once. but as far as visually the vlx wake(SV23 hull and the wedge down) seemed to be a bit more steep and rampy.... The LSV looked to have a smooth transition but still big ...

I do not remember the exact year, but I think it was a late 80s early 90s Formula F223 LS with a 454. This was a great first boat. We did not have a lake house at the time so I wanted a Cuddy Cruiser to get the girls out of the rain/thunder storms that sneek up here in the south.

We had a jet boat with a 460 that would burn some fuel. I bet your Formula with that 454 was right up there with it. GPM instead of MPG.

We had the name of the boat put on the transom with letters that looked like they were on fire that read "Burnin Money". The boat got its name when we were working on the fuel tank (80 gallon) and my friend smacked his hand over the open fuel fill inlet and said what's this, I replied "That is where the money goes" to which he replied "So we are just burning money"....I looked at him and said "You just named the boat"!!!!!!

1972 Silverline 16v Catalina, 120HP Merc I/O, hideous gold. I can't find any pictures of it. It was my dad's boat, my brother and I grew up on that boat. Great times. My dad gave it to me when he decided he was too old to mess with it. I owned it 5-6 years before moving to Georgia from Idaho. I went back the next summer to bring it down to GA. Almost made it to Rock Springs Wy and the bearing failed, got passed by the trailer wheel. Long story short it never made it to GA.

Speant about 9 years I guess boatless. Bought a Bayliner 175 in 2007, fun little boat, same engine as my dad's boat had, just a bit reworked and 15HP more. Still have this in the garage.

Last fall bought the Moomba.

I realized as I was digging through old prints and digital snaps that I rarely take a picture of the boat, FROM vthe boat perhaps but seldom OF it. The ugly Gold boat is not the one I owned, but it is similar.

rdlangston13-Yes, that is my barefoot boom sticking out the side of the boat. I was making adjustments to the cables. And to take a picture.

JesseC-good eye, yes that is a Mobius LS in the background. The Outback is mine, the Mobius was my brothers. We kept out boats at the same place over the winter. The picture was taken early spring, 2010. My brother live about 5 hrs away from me and we are into the same stuff, reason why we each have a boat. He has since sold his though.

Actually is my father's garage. He lets us kids take advantage of all his space. The small riding mower is mine, but everthing else in the garage is my father's, besides the Mobius. Its sometimes like a big kid toy box, since it accumulates the family toys for storage- boats, riding lawn mower, a compact John Deere 4x4 tractor, outside the picture- a corvette, a nice tool box, welder, air compressor. No one here is abnormally wealthy, all blue collor workers, just 3 adult guys that store cool stuff in one place.

Gotta thank my Dad for all that he does. Toy storage, boat driver, and daycare.
