It's usually a good one. Had a couple friends head over there with the yacht club and they lease a bus party all the way there, stay overnight and then come back on Sunday. They were looking for dry suits and I told them to look up Wiley's at the show or go to their warehouse. I learned a long time ago not to go to any show unless I plan to buy as it is too tempting.

Seattle is one of the greatest cities in the world for one reason. When I was there 2 yrs. ago there was a basement bar with about 250 tapper heads. Can't remember what it was called but man alive was it a cool place to grab a beer. Anybody know this place-- about 2-3 blocks from the convention center?

Probably the Tap House. I have never been to the one in by the convention center, but the one in Bellevue has done me in a few times. Seattle has quite a few good bars.

That's the one! I recongnize the pic of the bar. I sat right by that post in the middle of the bar for 3 days. You guys have some fine local offerings too.

It is even better when it is fresh from the tap at their brewery bar. :D
Was walking to Bridgeport Brewery a few months ago with a friend after we left her condo. And as we are getting close the air starts to fill with the aroma of hops and barley. Don't think a beer had ever tasted so good.

Please tell me that visiting family is the secondary motive of this visit, and that visiting the Widmer Brewery is the primary reason. LOL I am sure that some of use from the area will be around when you make it out. But fair warning I may be on the river.

The Widmer Brewery is just off Interstate Ave between the Rose Garden and Greeley Ave. Pretty good place to eat, parking can be a pain, and they can get fairly busy (but what place can't). http://www.widmer.com/beers.aspx
A few other breweries in the Portland area you may want to check out are Rogue (http://www.rogue.com/beers/beers.php), Bridgeport (http://www.bridgeportbrew.com/index.php), McMenamins (www.mcmenamins.com), and Deschutes (http://www.deschutesbrewery.com/brewery/brew-pubs/portland-pub/pdx-on-tap/default.aspx). Not a brewery anymore but is now a resturant with over 100 beers on tap and is the former site of the Weinhard Brewery in Portland is Henry's Tavern (http://www.henrystavern.com/page/menu/42083).
Sorry kane, but at least it's Friday and a good day to leave work early...
