View Full Version : Heater Group Buy #2

Matt Glenn
01-01-2011, 07:21 PM
I was checking out the great deal you guys got on the 1st group buy for boat heaters and was seeing if any others would like to start a new group buy for some heaters? I think the 1st group got them for 325-350 or so when they retail for 500. You can check out the heater group buy for 1st group buy info.

I'm still waiting back from Danny at heater craft to see even if he will do it again. I think the 1st group had at least 10 people. So anyone wanting to get a heater at a great price please respond and once I get word I will reply to post.

Matt Glenn

I talked to Danny Today and he told me that the 1st buy for the heaters did not really go. He said 3 guys paid and no one else came through. Well he is still up for the group buy for a great deal as long as we have 10 people put in their order and pay him in the week we set. He will not place the orders through with your card until he gets all ten people. I will post the info and price on the heaters when he sends it to me. He said it will be for either 3 vent or 4 vent heaters. It looks like it will be a great price. I will post info wants I get it. So if you guys are into this please let me know. Once you decide your in I will need your Name, email and number so Danny can contact you. Thanks guys

I posted this link to centurion crew forum already and I am in for sure (313 H C) and one other said he would be in. Try posting this on other boat forums for more hits. Maybe Dan could drop the minimum down to 7 since he got 3 three already;)

Matt Glenn
01-07-2011, 11:18 AM
He wants 10 people. When we pick a week everyone will call him and place order. However it will not go in to he gets all 10. Last time he gave the discount to the 1st 3 but no one else followed through. I agree we can post this on other forums. Thanks for the help. If you or others you know in please send me a PM with your name, e-mail and phone number. I will get prices soon, but they look great. I think we should be fine in getting enough people. I think we should shoot for around march to place order giving us enough time to get even more then 10 people so we don't get screwed by this falling apart on us if 1 or two fail to order. Thanks

4-outlet, includes 3-hotubes and 1 fixed Euro vent. P/N is 337H4CXL

Qty 10 will be $347.50, 5-9 will be $459.75 and 1-4 will be retail $559.00

Not bad a?

Price is based on Qty that we order so very important that people are sure they are in and that we all call in on same week to place order.
I will post 3 vent when I get it, but it looks like it will only be like $20 less, I think from what it sounds like they are near the same size heater box, so for the money more the better in my eyes.

10 or greater ( between the two types) : 323.50

5-9: 422.50

Less then 5 is retail 530.50

4 vent ( same size box just one more hot tube )

10 or greater :$347.50

We need to have every one that wants one post on sight what week you guys want to do this. I have no pref just before May. Once we pick a week I need every one that wants one there email and number and then that week you call the guy at heater craft and place order then at end of week he charges the cards for the quantiy that we have so it needs to be 10 or more before we make the order for the best price. I am a bit confused

can you clarify on the options - which is 3 or 4 vent and how many hot tubes and euro vents. i intially wanted all four with hot tube but this 337H4CXL may be better.

I vote for March but it may give too much time for people to think and opt out...

Thanks

Matt Glenn
01-19-2011, 09:25 PM
3 vent has two hot tubes and one reg vent that does not pull out ( usely placed under cockpit)

4 vent has 3 hot tubes and one reg vent

This is really the way to go from what I here. I'm guessing you could order an extra hottube when you order if you want 4 hot tubes.

Matt: tks for getting this all together, especially since the other boat site I belong to won't let us do group buys:((

I will post the prices over there; I 'm sure you will get some more buyers!

I vote for ordering as soon as possible, so we can get it installed and ready for early spring skiing!

Clarification: Once we pick a week and call in our order to Heatercraft, they will wait until Friday to charge our cards based on the number of orders. Say we do not get 10 orders, do we get a chance to opt out at that time or do we have the pay the extra $100 or so for the smaller order number??

Ref shipping costs ($25-$30), it looks like $18 UPS ground to central Florida.

Just a note of encouragement to you guys who are lining up to get a heater. It is a fantastic creature comfort and hard to overstate how much it is appreciated on those cold or cooler days. Without fail it will put a smile on the face of your crew. The heater on my Outback DD is one of the best factory options I ordered. If you are on the fence about this, just do it. And let's see the install pics.

Macatack, I will ask Danny that but I'm hoping we will have so many people in that if a few drop out we will still be good man. I think end of Feb / march would be good giving others time to jump on board. What about the 1st week in March?

Hey Matt: the 1st week of March sounds good, as I said, the sooner the better. Maybe if we get 15 or so comittments in the next week or so, we can pull the trigger earlier? Would like to get this "winter" project complete soonest:)

I know you mentioned this kit would satisfy the Vdrive folks, but are we paying extra for that or for the DD guys is there another kit available. Maybe it doesn't matter in the big scheme of things; guess we are only talking about the length of the water hoses to where you mount the heater box??

Is there any reason this 4-vent kit number (337H4CXL)is not listed on the Heater Craft website?

Add me to the 4-vent kit list.

tks again for working, mac

I would call your dealer and ask them if they could put one in and how many vents you could get. this will tell what you can get because all most all the heaters are heater craft in boats. You could call heatercraft if you want, but I do not think they will tell you what will or will not work.

I've read a ton of heater install threads on our MC forum. Overwhelmingly, everyone suggests purchasing the Y-pipe which brings the return line to the raw water intake rather than the circulating pump...this setup will provide significantly more heat at idle. Heater Craft sells the Y-pipe for $40 and SKIDIM for $34.

Matt: I wonder if HeaterCraft will also give us a group discount on this part? Please let us know...tks, mac

yes but if you are idling a lot the water pump is pulling water thru the heating system... So if you have problems with your 400 heating system at idle then whats another 40....

Just ordered my heater. Glad we got so many people already so I don't have to worry about the price going up because some people backed out. :D Also, ordered the Y fittings. Thanks again for putting this all together.

I'm in for a 4 vent heater Kit. I would like to get the most CFM as possible with 4 hot tubes (no fixed ones). I would also like the chrome trim faces with air volume adjustments.

is it possible to get chrome or stainless trim plates? seems like everyone here is trying to make their boat shine more and i'd be up for that as well if this option is available... i never even thought to ask danny when i placed my order. any other sites on the web have it?

I just ordered a 4 outlet heater with hot tubs to replace the 2 outlet heater that it currently has. I think I will put the 2 outlet heater on the port side and the 4 outlet on the starboard side. I will have six heater outlets!!!! ITS DANG COLD IN ALBERTA :( I also ordered the recirculating pump for the heaters and a hot water shower….LOL. It should be here in a few weeks, can't wait!

BTW, Danny at Heater Craft was awsome to deal with...ext 224

Danny at Heater Craft just informed me today that they will be receiving freshly dipped chrome beauty rings for the hot hose soon. I think they were around $10.00

Ordered a 4 port to replace my 8 year old unit. It served me well the core started leaking and the
Hoses are starting to crack. Now I just have to fess up to the boss what I did. Maybe looking at the sofa or dog house. Ill miss the warm water on my feet from the core. Now if it wasn't so dam cold.

BLKOUTLS - I'm glad to lend a hand on the install (after the dust settles with your boss). I'm good with a hammer and glad to meet another Moomba owner. Island Lake is a thirty minute drive from my house. If interested, let me know. - Deerfield

Deerfield thanks for the offer. To use the time estimate used many times on this board its aprox a 1/4 beer. I am replacing my 3 port heater with a 4 port. I am really thinking to do something custom with my additional flexible port now. I may consider some type of custom mini openings in my bow fed from this one dont know yet. You live in my old home town we should get together this summer as I am right on the water on the fox close to keifs. We ride early am and off the water by 9 usually and afternoons family and dogs down by barrington. As for fessing up to the boss havent done that yet.

@ Deerfield. Wish you guys didn't live so far away. I always happy for help in installing things. Hopefully they do a moomba get together like they did last year and hopefully I can get up there this time. I would really like to meet some other Moomba owners.

thanks for putting this group buy together. I saw the post on mastercraft forum and called Danny on Thursday. I have been poking around here a bit and it seems you have a good group here. I bet you guys are as anxious for spring / summer as those of us on the "other" forum.

thanks again!!

For those that wanted the Y bras fitting to increase heat output at idle I got the price down to $28.

Thanks Matt. I ordered the Y fitting as well as the air Y and a fixed vent. I already have a 3 outlet installed but I'm going to split one of my pullouts and add a fixed vent under the dash. Also looking forward to having a little more heat at idle.

Lance - Thanks for registering and chimin' in on our forum. Glad that the heater group buy has been a good thing for lots of folks. Heater is just about the best creature comfort on my Outback. Please let us know how it works out for you. And stick around. - Deerfield

Lance, where are you from and like to boat? Post some pics of your ride up here.

It is a good group on here, without many prejudges other than pics of peeps in cutoff board shorts and that mostly applies to the ones Ed G likes to post up of himself.

absolutely JV

Spoke few times with Danny at HC and the 4 outlet is supposed to fit perfectly in our hull since the 3 and 4 outlet have the same foot print

send me a PM so we can discuss what we plan to do
