Does anyone know of a good drivers side holder for the Ipod? Also since the radio is in the glove box does anyone know how long of a cord you will need to connect it to it?

Take a look at the RAM (http://www.ram-mount.com/) brand of mounts, can be configured however you like.

The link below is the same as mine but with a smaller, triangle base instead of the larger square base. Both holders are adjustable for various size phones or ipods

you da man, i noticed your iphone is hooked up using the data port. Is that ran directly to the ws420 or through head unit? It also looks like that cord can do data port or headphone jack, where did you get the cord? Can you tell a quality difference between the two?

Sound quality is not effected to me but volume has to be up more when using the headphone plug. I use the data port because it charges the phone as well. It's wired to the headunit using the CD changer port via an adapter to go from pin CD changer type to RCA.

Its alright to convert to a 3.5mm jack (going to the input of an EQ for example) but avoid coming out of the headphone jack on the top of an ipod. Its often a primative Class B amplifier intended to drive very basic headsets. The port at the bottom has a much cleaner true preout signal.

Okay, the cable stuff makes sense, what about a Zune? I am one of the seven people in the world that has a Zune HD instead of an iPod.

What about it? It should still be able to connect to any hu through the aux in port as long as it has one. even then i'm sure there's a cable to make it happen. It'll play like any mp3 player.

Could use one of these (http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.14920) adapters or get a complete cable (http://www.amazon.com/Cables-Go-35508-iPod-Compatible-Connector/dp/B000J022G6/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1292632979&sr=8-3). Can't tell if it charges though.

I might have to buy this one (http://www.lightinthebox.com/3-in-1-USB-3-5mm-AUX-Audio-Data-Charger-Cable-for-iPod-iPhone-iPad--White-_p158096.html), covers all bases!

Well, yeah, I have it playing now from the headphone jack to the aux in jack on the head unit. But since this is sub optimal, does anyone know of an adapter or unit that i can use my data cable with to plug in my zune to the head unit?

Microsoft's unsuccessful attempt at challenging the ipod. It does have somewhat of a following, I actually considered one a few years back to get away from Apple proprietary but it was too expensive just for that.

Thanks Razz, I just ordered two - one for my car, and one for the boat.

Really ticks me off that Griffin did not make an adapter for the iPhone 4 for their SmartClick TuneFlex mount that I bought last year when I had the iPhone 3G. When the iPhone 4 came out, Griffin discontinued the SmartClick TuneFlex and made a new one that has a universal cradle and left us TuneFlex owners hanging out to dry.

Would you expect anything different from apple or any product related to apple? You will get spoonfed everything and have to make continual hardware upgrades to stay current.

Does anyone play their ipod directly through the aux input on the WS-420? How is the sound quality compared to playing through an input on the HU?
