What is the difference between the outback and outback ls? I am looking at buying and can see the difference in the configuration of the doors on the rear storage area, but what other differences are there?

06 - I bought an Outback because I want a three-event tournament approved tow boat. Had I been willing to sacrifice the certification, I would have considered the LS. Like the Outback, it is a direct drive boat. Advantage offered by the LS is higher freeboard for drier ride in rough water. - Deerfield

The difference varies from year to year. I had a 2000 Outback LS. It had a newer hull than the Outback. By a year or two later the hulls were the same or mine was the old one called simply "Outback" and the LS had the new one. I can't remember. If you check the Archive and look at the specs of each from year to year you can see the differences.
