I had my engine replaced this year with a new 5.7 marine block. What I am wanting to find out is where would the serial number be? The number I have found so far is the casting number. The number is 10243880 and according to online it is a 95-00 casting number. So did the dealer sell me a reman block or can you still by these engines brand new?

I can't help you with serial numbers or anything like that. However, you can easily purchase a new block. Also, most every boat rolling off of every inboard boat factory has a new 5.7L in it. That doesn't mean that your block is or isn't reman, it just means you can get new ones.

What I meant to ask is can you get a new block with this casting number? Or would the new engines say like 2001 -2009 with a new casting number.
