I'm not near my boat, can anyone give me the prop nut size . The boat is an 08' XLV but I'm pretty sure they are the same. Is the nut standard thread or reverse threaded? Finally, is the torqued on the shaft alot or just medium torque...don't know what expect when I loosen it

Not sure what the nut size is I use a large cresent wrench. The thread is standard. You can use a block of wood to wedge the prop then loosen the bolt. Leave the nut on at the end when you use the prop puller so the prop does not come flying off. Once you get the prop puller tight give the prop a couple of hits on the back amd it should pop right off. Don't loose the keyway!

Anyone know if the prop nut has nylon in the threads (meaning you can't hand tighten it)

Yes it does have the nylon threads. It is not a reverse thread. Torque on my nut was medium.

I am 99% sure you need a 1-1/8" wrench to remove it

A deepwell socket with a ratchet works great with the nylocks!

it is a 1 1/8" socket.

If your removing your prop, make darn sure to leave that loosened up nut on the shaft when breaking the prop loose!

I would also recommend using a breaker bar on your ratchet handle.

Wait don't we have 2 different diameter shafts and 2 different size fasteners?

Ok breaker bar, I would suggest not trying to break that nut free with a 1/4" drive ratchet! :p

Well actually I knew that I just wanted to point that out since us dying breed of pure skiboat owners are feeling kind of left out lately! ;)
