I just had to post up some pictures , just like a private lake, matter of fact it was private for us for most of the time we were there. Northwest Montana , close to my B I L 's house. We couldn't have asked for a better day or place...

It was near Echo lake near Big Fork , Mt. Actually it was connected to it at the end of a chain of 3 lakes. There is a church camp there that owns almost half the shoreline. Here are some more pics of Echo, one is my wall paper at work. Sure bites to come back here to crowded water after being there. The water temp at Echo was actually pretty warm for up there , I would guess mid 70's.

Jim,
Have you done Swan, Seeley, and Salmon?
I might try and zip up there for a last trip before winter fly's :)

We did swan lake of course. It was pretty flat also , but the water temp was cool . Late start on Summer up there. We didn't do Seeley lake either went up through Missoula then 93.
We probably should have waited to go up there now , you never know what the weather is going to do there. One year the day we left there was frost on the bow of the boat in August!! Pics of Swan from this last trip.

Wow Jim, that is some sweet water! I bet it is hard to go back to Chatfield or Cherry Creek after that :) Thanks for sharing.

How water a drive were those lakes from Denver?

It's about 4 1/2 hours from where I live to the first lake and about 6 1/2 hours to Flathead. There's 3 lakes in between. Worth the drive though if I ever can get the time off :)

A lot farther for Jim

This boat hasn't seen chatfield or cherry creek. Too crowded and never any flat water. I guess I am too picky.
