OK, the date is set. The 3rd Annual Flint River Jam will be on Sat. Sept. 18th. We'll meet up around 10 am. at the Earl May Boat Basin and head north from there. Lots of good clean wet fun! See everyone there!

Seadeck is a 3-4 week backlog to make and deliver, so that ain't gonna happen.

I officially retire July 2011.

I am looking for someone to work for me that weekend, but we'll see.

I will!

Can I wear your hat and take home one of them huge cans of coffee?

I have four and a half years experience telling sailors (bubbleheads), "if you want this done fast, have your supply officer come up and see me".

Good to see local Moomba owners.

winter garden?

You need to drag that Boomerang out to clermont some saturday. Would love to see it and get a ride. I'll get you surfing behind mine.

I run thru your quaint little town every saturday morning.

My wife is the manager of west orange trail
Then you know right where I live, the West Orange Trail runs right next to my neighborhood on Fullers Cross Rd, I'm in Fullers Crossing right behind the water tower.

Absolutely, I'll bring it out. I'm not sure if I want to ride behind yours though. Right now I don't know what I'm missing, a ride in something like yours might cost me big $$$$

takes me about 5hrs from land o lakes--just north of tampa

That's about an hour south of me so about 4 hours. Worth the trip? A lot of Moombas show up?

We were at idle, thank goodness. There was a HUGE boulder a third of the way out into the river in a place where there should have been nothing. It was about 20 inches or so under the surface so there was no way to see it. I have been over that spot a hundred times. The hull bumped over it and scraped all the way back then the prop smacked it. We were going so slow that the prop was not turning by the time the back of the boat scraped over it. So only one blade was bent a little. But, the vibration was bad enough we idled home. Once on the trailer you could see the scrape from front to back with some gel coat damage and damage to one of the ribs in the hull. Very fixable -- but I don't know if it will need more than a prop or not till we put a true prop on it and test it. I don't have a spare prop either.

None. I had plans on Sun and Mon so I parked it in the garage and just worried about it for two days. Thanks for the messages and calls you guys. I think I'm going to take it somewhere ASAP. I should know more later today. I called my reg. guy (2 hrs away) but didn't get a return call on a holiday weekend. It's probably going to the first place that can get it in.

BTW- I have an extra prop you could run but its a 1" shaft and I think yours is a 1 1/8.

About a mile up river from the single boat ramp on the N side-- don't know what they call that one. This thing was huge and invisible. I can't believe I haven't seen anyone hit it before or haven't hit it myself. I'm going to start marking these even if no one else will do it.

Monty, where do you take your stuff? Have you had to take your boat in?

MOOMBA_97

I have not had to have mine in the shop, but Mark had his Supra worked on in Dothan this year and was satisfied. I hear they have new mechanic there that is really good.

I took it over to Dothan yesterday. They started ordering parts before I ever got there and called me again this morning to approve the prop choice. They seem very organized and professional. They are doing everything they can to get me back ASAP.

Yeah it is bad to be stuck in a DD boat that sits in the lift ready to go!
Now where did you say your VD was? You probably went over that rock a zillion times before when you didn't draw 48" of water! :p
Hope you get her fixed soon and it doesn't cost you a fortune!

We would love to go but we have been so busy lately every weekend with Triathlons and swim meets that MrsZ is now in trouble for not visiting her 85 year old parents. It has been so crazy with the extra sports things that we have only been out on the lake once this past month!
In the next 3 weeks we have another kids swim meet, a kids Triathlon in St. Petersburg and then MrsZ will have our next Triathlon here in Panama City.
Can't complain as 15lbs has left me and over 10 from her!
Is it bad when you have to go and buy a belt to keep up what used to be tight fitting pants!!!???
Have fun and I agree the chances of hitting a rock are probably slim to none! If I did go I would just follow you as I know I would be safe if your 72" of draft would clear it then my 22" draft in my super fast, super lightweight, best all around collectable real SKI boat ever madewould be no problem! :D

You can actually get there on the Intercoastal waterway and wouldn't need a trailer. There is a Lock on Seminole Dam, take a right after that and you are on the Flint River. Bainbridge is a Seaport! Just bring a couple extra gas cans! :p

Whoooo Hooooo! What a blast on the Flint. Got to meet some more Moomba friends in maxpower & monty and their familis. It was a pleasure, guys.

We were able to get quite a bit a surfing in and enjoyed the demo boards Mark from LakeWakes provided. The "Pirate" board was a huge hit with the guys! I'll try and get some video up later when we get back to the ATL.

A special THANK YOU to the kaneboats clan! You all are the best.

Again, we had a blast at the Mini jam hosted by Kaneboats--huge thanks for making it happen a 3rd yr in a row.

A special note on that pizza--WOW, that alone was worth the 4hr drive.

One bad thing about going to a minijam where you get to demo other surfboards is that now I got to get some money gathered up for a couple a new surfboards from Lakewakes. I really enjoyed the blue pirate and my daughter really wants one too.

Moomba 97 and Maxpowers-really glad you guys made it, just wish we had more time to catch up on things

We enjoyed it as well. Good to see and meet everyone. Next year will be much easier for us, this meaning we hope to make it up North toward Sinclair.

I must comment of the wave Stacy puts out. I have never seen a wave actually Pipeline behind a boat.

We had a real good time getting together with the other Moomba families. Thanks to everyone for supporting what is now, I believe, the longest running mini-jam still going. We will be looking forward to the 4th annual next year.

Monty-- great to see all of you again- loved meeting Reese. Paul and Mary, thanks for coming so far 2 years in a row. Next time we will find a way to do 2 days on the water to avoid towing here and then towing back the next day. I'm so looking forward to attending the LandOLakes Jam after you guys move south. Stacy and Drew- it's always an absolute blast when we hang out. As Drew says, "Too bad our kids can't get along." We'll see you again as soon as we can. Finally, a special thank you to all the Moms who make everything happen in the first place. We couldn't do these things without your support, cooperation and tolerance. Thanks so much!!

I have a few good pics I'll get posted tonight. Glad everybody's home safely.

First, to anyone who lives within 5 hours, you really should come out to this event next year. The weather was great, the water was perfect and there was very little boat traffic. The only cost was gas to tow there, gas to run the boat, and a little bit of food money.

Thanks to Kaneboat and family for the Friday evening get together. Sorry we were late, but work sometimes gets in the way (plus the time change). It was great to see old friends and meet new people that are on the forum in person. Now, when I make a smart*ss comment on the board, you know who I am or at least what I look like.

Having a ski specific boat, it is nice to get on a "family and wake" oriented boat for a change. I enjoyed the use of multiple boards and a fantastic wake. It is nice to have a change of sporting events and a driver to take care of those duties.

Sorry we left on Sat evening, but we needed to clean up the house and get chores done before this work week.

Good times.

Hey, Flint River mini-jam crew - My general impression of rivers is that they have murky, muddy water and lots of debris. Not fun. But then I see your mini jam pictures and have to reconsider. Looks like your river is nice and boating there is fun (except for the nucklehead on the PWC). According to Google maps, Flint River runs at least half the length of the state of Georgia. Also located pictures of Earl May Boat Basin. Glad you guys can get together and hope you keep it up. Great pics. Thanks or posting. - Deerfield

Awesome pics, looks like it was a great time. I noticed the picture of several boats beached on the shore. I'm guessing there was soft sand, but did your tracking fins dig into the sand or is the drop-off that sharp? Any wear on the keel fiberglass?

No wear. The sand is extremely soft. The drop off at that spot is huge so NO WORRIES! Come on down next year!

You guys really need to start venturing away from the KOA'a when camping.

It's a whole different world when you camp in places where you have no neighbors - and would be a wonderfull experience for the kids.

There are places where if you venture away from the campsite at night, especially if you are a kid or dog, you might not come back, especially if you are near the water.
