Does anyone have some advice on how to do a 360 on a wakesurf board. Are there specific boards that are good for tricks or like shorter fins?

Try this article:

It was helpful in getting the rotation down but I still float out the back every time. I just don't know if the pocket on my LS is long enough to get around on it and actually ride out of it. Good luck!

That is a good article.

I think that how you approach it also depends on what sort of board you are riding at the time.

I have rode smaller boards (almost skim style but not) where I can do 360's on the spot with a simple body rotation. With larger boards (and larger fins) you need to get up in the lip like the article explains.

The only way I can do it on my Hyperlite LandLock (which is a 5'6" board with 2 large surf fins) is when I get the perfect approach. In this vid @ 20 seconds I get up in the top of the wave and dig the rail in for some speed. I've found that if I get that part right I can pretty much pull it off every time. You will notice that my 2nd attempt lacks the prep work for the approach and I fail miserably.

Aaron, What's your ballast set-up? I just ordered (2) 750lb bags for 2009 OBV. Is that what you're using?

What lake is that in your video? I use to live on Lake Stevens.

Thanks,

Greg

Yeh, I replaced my 2 stock 400lb bags with 750's in the v-drive lockers and kept the 400's for additional in-boat weight.

750 - surf side locker
400 - front/middle G3 sac
400 - on top of the front/middle G3 sac
400 - on the surf side seat
300 - non-surf side locker (estimated fill of a 750lb bag)

That is Lake Washington.
