...have you had your boat to?

I figured this would be a cool thread, I feel like I remember a 'favorite lakes' thread a while ago.

So, the list of lakes I've had my boat in are as follows:

Michigan:
Cass Lake, Waterford (home lake)
Pontiac Lake, Waterford
Orchard Lake, West Bloomfield
Elizabeth Lake, West Bloomfield
Torch Lake, Bellaire

Canada:
Lake Huron, Grand Bend

I think if I (a) didn't keep my boat on the water, and (b) had a dedicated tow vehicle I'd probably havea much longer list, but its just so much nicer not having to trailer every time we want to use it!

skiyaker- What are your thoughts on Patoka Lake? Is it a good ski lake? How's the water temp and clarity?
It would be about 3-3.5 hrs from me and I have researched it online.
Thanks.

patoka lake is pretty typical of other Indiana Reservoirs- I don't like it as well as Brookville but I'm partial because I grew up going to Brookville every weekend. We were there on memorial day weekend so it was packed but since we were on a houseboat we were able to get out on it early enough to get a ski in before everybody else showed up (it got busy about 10 AM). The marina there rents floating cabins and houseboats plus they have several campgrounds. The marina is only about 10 minutes from the casino in French Lick. It has a few protected areas so wind chop wouldn't usually be an issue and I think Monroe draws some of the boat traffic away- but still on a weekend you better get up early if you want to ski! Water temp over memorial day was high 70s/low 80s, it wasn't very clear (? maybe a few feet) but the water was clean. If you go grab a lake map because it has a few random sand bars and islands out in the middle.

I think i'll get the tie for the shortest list....

Idaho:
Lucky peak
Lake Lowell

many other lakes and resevoirs around here that are relatively close, but it's so hard to justify the gas when peak is only 15 miles or so from my front door, has improved campsites only accessible by boat each with it's own dock(keeps the wannabe boat owners away), and a full service marina.

Hmmm.... some impressive lists... mine are mostly Utah lakes, but I do have a few nice ones.

Pineview Reservoir - Utah
Bear Lake - Utah/Idaho
Lake Jordanelle - Utah
Deer Creek - Utah
Yuba Lake - Utah
Sand Hollow - Utah
Flaming Gorge - Utah/Wyoming
Lake Powell - Utah/Arizona
Lake Havasu - Arizona

My ATF is Lake Powell. You feel like you have stepped into another planet when you go down the water and the canyon walls jut out about 250-300 ft. I would like to take a trip to Lake Tahoe but the water is almost always in the mid to high 60's so I don't see much point in travelling 8 hrs one way for that.
