I just noticed on the weeken after uncovering my boat that the dark Grey metalic paint along the top of my windsheild is pealing real bad. It kind of reminds me of when paint is applied too thick, then after it heats up from the sun, it becomes tacky again and peals right off. This is happening where the cover comes in contact with the top of the windsheild frame. Has anyone see this before... This is a 2009 LSV... My 1 year warranty just expired last month:mad: I am wondering if SC has a full stainless upper available like whats on the Supra's

Anyone see this before?

If you just want to touch it up or repaint it they use duplicolor wheel coating. It's about $10 at the auto parts stores.

Would that be an exact match to the metalic paint or just a similar product?

Exact match.

I have a can at home and can give you the exact color but not until I get home next week.

I would guess the color would be Graphite - part #HWP102. That is the only one that would match. Looks like you can get it at most automotive stores.
Thanks for the info!

Yup, I used the same stuff to touch up mine when I had the glass out to re-tint.
When you see it tin the store you'll know which one it is. Its pretty obvious.

Anyone know if a full stainless top frame is availalbe for the LSV? I see Supra uses this on all their boats. I am afreaid the paint will peal again and end up being added maintenance.

If you have the patience and ability you could strip the paint off and polish the aluminum. I had though about doing to to mine but after I found the paint I went that route. As far as finding a stainless replacement you may have to contact the window maufacturer. Only a few of the supras had this for a couple years.

and the problem with the windsheild paint failing is compounded when you use spray suntan lotion...

I havent looked at the Supras in person, but when I was flipping through my 2007 Supra book, I noticed that all models had a full SS top rail.

Anyways today I will have my boat over at the dealer. they said they would document it and see if SC will cover this under warranty.

09 only had a 1 year warranty? Whats up with that?
My 08 has a 3 year.

I've got this same issue where the snaps for the snap down cover tend to move back and forth. It's kinda a bummer as they move very freely, but not a huge issue. Does that paint only come in spray cans?
